An anonymous movie maker have created a little propaganda piece ind defence of the eviction-threatened autonomous center in Denmark Ungdomshuset.

The movie is Four minutes long and kan be considered an emotional defence of the Place. Its translated into english and German.

“If, in willful or blind ignorance, we do not challenge our government to change the role of our troops from aggression to genuine peacekeeping and reconstruction, we are all responsible for the Afghan and Canadian lives about to be lost.”

A Danish publishing house has decided to withdraw a book offensive to Muslims after protests by Muslim leaders in the Scandinavian country. The book was listed on the curricula of third-ninth grades under the Christianity subject.

It tackles Islam in a chapter entitled "terrorism." The first pages of the chapter reminds students of the grisly Beslan massacre in Russia, when armed Chechens took hundreds of students hostage.

The book associates Muslims with terrorism and also outline the terrorist 9/11 attacks with a profile of Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.

Raising the roof – 11th birthday & benefit party

It’s Kebele’s 11th anniversary, we now own the place outright, we’re revamping everything, and we’re even fixing the roof. So in true Kebele style, we are having a party – and you are all invited.

As part of the grassroots initiative to twin Birmingham with Ramallah on the West Bank of the Occupied Palestinian Territories, four Palestinians from Ramallah will visit Birmingham from the 20th to the 29th of November

Kebele social centre in Easton, Bristol, remains (sadly) the only permanent radical volunteer run such centre in Bristol – that means no bosses and no paid staff. As we look forwards to the 11th anniversary of the founding of Kebele, we hope that readers & activists will go out and set up their own radical centre, in their part of town. Bristol needs not one, but many, long-term radical social centres, if we are to truly build an alternative to the dominance of the capitalist consumer culture and its destructive nature.

To celebrate our 11 years of dogged, often creative, activity and resistance, we’ve having a party – on 8 December. It’ll be a late one, with bands, dj’s, PA’s, cabaret, café. Full details to follow shortly.

The Skelligs Rocks, 8 miles off the coast of Co. Kerry, constitute one of only two UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Ireland. However, the Office of Public Works (OPW) is currently engaged in reconstruction work there. On the South Peak of Skellig Michael, an altar, dating probably to the ninth century, has been destroyed by unsupervised workmen. In addition, there has been extensive rebuilding carried out on the main complex, which has led to considerable damage to the original structures. The work has proceeded without an Environmental Impact Assessment; while the Department of the Environment and OPW have argued that, because the Skelligs are a national monument (thus covered by the National Monuments Act 2004) and because the current work is part of an ongoing programme of conservation dating back to the 1980’s, neither an EIA nor planning permission is necessary.
