Dodgy Relationships- Nuclear Intimacy

13-02-2012 22:55

Dodgy relationships bought with millions of pounds of taxpayers money and promoting the nuclear agenda grow more blatent day by day.  The nuclear corruption of Cumbria's decision makers could of course be a horrid series of coincidences that remain unchallenged and unreported on, it is surely too blatent to be a conspiracy?

Lord Clark non executive director of Sellafield is on a salary 'not in the public domain' he is also chair of the Lake District National Park Partnership. Lake District National Park meetings chaired by Lord Clark reveal a bias as he talks up the safety and economic importance of Sellafield and new nuclear developments while playing down the risks.

Under his chairmanship the LDNPA SUPPORTS dangerous new build (9 new reactors) at Sellafield and is going merrily along on  'steps towards geological disposal' of high level nuclear waste under Cumbria. As well as Lord Clark's salary as a non executive director of Sellafield, the LDNPA itself is in reciept of money from Managing Radioactive Wastes Safely (MRWS). Government has drastically cut the LDNPA's budget and is now filtering taxpayers money to the Lake District National Park from MRWS ( a government quango set up to promote a geological dump in Cumbria).

Everyone has their price?

The Bishop of Carlisle (i.e. Cumbria) was making pronuclear pronouncements supporting new build and geological dump - even before his enthronement at Carlisle Cathedral.

Support John Voysey

25 supporters gathered at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Wednesday 1 February in solidarity with John Voysey, 82, of Herefordshire who is charged with failing to complete the 2011 Census. John, who registered as a conscientious objector in 1947 while still a schoolboy and later became a Quaker, has refused to complete the 2011 Census on moral grounds because of Lockheed Martin's £150 million contract for processing the census data. The case has now been adjourned until Friday 2 March midday for a pre-hearing and will be heard by a District Judge in recognition of the important legal points raised by the defendant, who is representing himself in court.

The Echo of Silence

26-01-2012 09:32

This is a message to the uprising conservation activists in India from the karmic underground of a subcontinent which had to experience the prototypes of the current destruction in a thousand years of shadow. We speak for everyone who has chosen to live without the permanent terror of the police state, and for everyone who might nourish the sprout of such a decision in the prisons of their daily lives, so we speak for everyone able to agree or disagree for themselves. In this place, there is little left to conserve, and the fine thread of life connecting us with its timeless nature would be easily cut. We desire, envision and pursue the abolition of the regimes threatening to do so and the deconstruction of their inferior motivation of nuclear power. In the physics of the atom, we see human minds inspired by the Sun and the paths of the planets, trying to imagine what is not fully understood, captured in the metaphor of their own misunderstanding. Precisely this narrative is the core element of the police state that must be taken out to avoid catastrophe. And yet the condition of the universe this toxic legacy is part of suggests that no one carried such a monstrous aberration quite far, for otherwise it would already be just as looted as this Earth.
