Weapons Establishment (AWE) at 10.30 on Friday night 8th February, and

Dawn blockade leaves nuclear workers locked out

At 6am this morning 10 protestors blockaded access to EDF energy's nuclear sites at Hinkley Point, preventing the morning shift from starting work. 4 people in arm locks formed a barrier across the main access road at Wick Moor Drove in a bid to prevent further ground clearance work at the planned Hinkley C site and to protest at EDF's plan to extend the life of aging reactors at the Hinkley B station.

War is flaring up in Gaza, and the biggest surprise in it is that it is yet another conventional shooting match in the squeezed territory, while the previous expectation had been a radioactive war with Iran. This seems to be the conflagration of the rudiments of a much bigger storm that, for some reason or another, did not break out. What has so far prevented this radioactive war is the doctrine of reciprocal contamination which in the face of previously unknown cyber attacks tacitly installed itself on the core of the classical theocracies. The capacity to reciprocate contamination released by an attack on enemy territory can deter such attack no matter how the contamination is being achieved.

RWE is cutting the trees to expand the largest open cast mine in europe where they extract brown coal.The rheinish Brown Coal area is the largest CO2 source in europe.

Census refusers Andy Manifold and Sarah Ledsom were at Dale Street Magistrates Court in Liverpool today for their trials in connection with refusing to complete the 2011 Census on grounds of conscience. Neither trial reached a conclusion and further dates have been set.

Join anti-war/solidarity vigils outside the court again from 1pm on Friday 19 October (Andy) and Friday 23 November (Sarah).

Preparing for peace with Wrexham schoolchildren

Grassroots activists, singers, musicians, poets, artists, cooks, holistic therapists, photographers and film-makers along with teachers, members of faith groups and atheists, council officers and others have been working together to bring the subjects of peace, conflict resolution and nonviolent action into the public domain in Wrexham. These efforts resulted in three days of events last week focused around World Peace Day. The first of these days took place in a local school.
