Yesterday Irish citizens resident in Ireland were invited to vote in a referendum on the "Treaty of Lisbon". They constitute less than 1% of the total population of the EU. Its democracy is unique in that only resident citizens are allowed vote. Though being an Irish citizen as a continental European worker, I could not vote. Notwithstanding as an anarchist I wouldn't have voted anyway. Ireland is rated as being one of the richest states in the EU according to those statistics of the dreary science economics and most people including themselves attribute such prosperity to their membership of the EEC, then EC and finally EU. They even invented a name for this great wealth which oddly enough accompanied the highest income disparity and social inequality in the developed world. They called it "the Celtic Tiger".

You'll find below a letter from jail as well as an international call for
action and solidarity with 4 people locked up in french jails since a few
months. They are accused of planning terrorist activity (sometimes just because
they were going to a demonstration with DIY smoke bombs) or taking part in
sabotage actions. They, amongst others, are pointed out as symbolic figures of
the « the resurging threat of anarcho-terrorists preparing for armed
struggle ». The french State is trying to build up this myth as a reaction to
ongoing revolts (migrants', workers', students', struggles against jails...).

Gianni Alemanno was elected in April on a mixture of promises typical of his far-right platform. Upon his election fascist salutes were given to cries of "Duce!" on the steps of the Capitol in Rome. The most repugnant election promise was the immediate expulsion of Roma "gypsies" from the city. The Italian police have just been mobilised in Naples to protect Roma encampments from hate attacks last night which saw their shanties burnt. Many believed the general election which was lost by Veltroni (the former mayor of Rome) to Berlusconi was prompted because of the ongoing waste collection crises in Naples. It's time to identify the fascists.

1 May 2008. In the early evening, a festive Euromayday Parade took the streets of Catalan city of Terrassa in the metropolitan perifery of Barcelona. Its demands for social rights were highlighted by several actions in specific places in town. The parade was lead by a truck, where Chikiprecario and Supervivienda from the viral housing campaign V de Vivienda) entertained the crowd with choreographies, supported by a hip hop crew.
