On Thursday 30th November 2006, The High Court in London ruled that Babar could be extradited to the US. What remains now is for the High Court to cerify that there are points of law in their Judgement that are of public importance. Babar's legal team now have 14 days to convince the High Court that there are in fact at least two points of law, namely those concerning Military Detention and Rendition.

Iraqis had rightly been proud of that.

Yesterday, the Government's apology to Greek activist Avgoustino Dimitrou, important though it is, demonstrates that there is one law for Greeks and another for foreigners. Necati has waited 6 years fro an apology and has received none. Neither has he been offered compensation, or a statement of non-recurrence. Instead, he has been denied access to court and seen 3 of his assailants acquitted. It is time that the racist agenda is challenged, and the mindless corruption and cronyism that sees convicted men still in uniform years after their trial, must stop -before more innocent foreigners are hurt in Greece.

The majority of Israeli settlements have been constructed either entirely or partially on private Palestinian land, in violation of Israeli law itself, according to a new report by Peace Now, one of the oldest peace movements in Israel that monitors Israel settlements in the West Bank. Based on data from a 2004 survey by the Civil Administration, which was leaked to Peace Now through an official in the CA, the report found that nearly 40% of the land the settlements sit on is effectively stolen from Palestinian landowners. Settlements in the occupied West Bank are illegal under international law, but Israel has long 'rejected' this. Some 430,000 Jews live in these residential areas in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
