Next week's half term will see a plethora of activities for children, based in the Radford area - 2 days of creative workshops along the theme of reuse and recycle - followed by a Play parade, celebrating the re-development of Independent Street park and making noise about children’s right to play out safely. On Friday the 6th of February 2009 at 2:30pm, University of Nottingham students and academics as well as members of the local community will come together and urge the University administration to re-focus its connections to the Israel and Palestine conflict.

Construction workers at the site of a new gas fired power station at Staythorpe near Newark, Nottinghamshire have joined workers across the country in striking against the use of foreign contractors. While the issue has been contentious for some time, with a unemployed workers holding protests outside the site since November. The issue was reignigted after workers at the Total oil refinery at Lindsey in Lincolnshire walked out over similar concerns.

Constant Moussavou, Still Here, Campaign fights on

"Constant said that a High Court injunction against the deportation order has been successful but he will still continue to be detained. It appears that the earlier legal ruling to disregard the new evidence and to not await the authentication of the documents (due to be received on Mon 26th Jan 09) provided on Constant’s behalf has been reversed.

He’d like to thank everybody for their support and expressed the need for your continued help and support in ensuring he’s able to resume his life and work in Leicester."

Notingham City Council has had its Governement grant towards Discretionary Housing Payments for the sixth year running due to mismanagement by the Housing Benefits Service.

The Office is interested in playfully and creatively engaging with concerned individuals to interact and comment on government initiatives relating to surveillance, control and policing. The Office of Community Sousveillance will be patrolling hotspots around Nottingham from 15th - 18th January 2009.

I accepted the invitation to the CCTV Treasure Hunt in Nottingham city centre. On Sunday 18th January at 1pm. People met at Broadway Media Centre to help map Nottinghams insane surveillance system!!!

On Saturday 17th January people began meeting at 10.30 am on the Forest Recreation Ground.

Northampton market traders are fighting a 'Save the Market' battle against Liberal
Democrat Northampton Borough Council (NBC). A petition has already got over 7,000 signatures from local people who are afraid they will lose their market. The market is used by a diverse multi-cultural community of the working population of the town centre and its surrounding estates, some of which are deprived areas.
