After a week of burning barricades, cars and public buildings across the country the unrest has settled down. Now we're looking back at what actually happened.

Denmark. The struggle for a new social centre and youth house in Copenhagen continues. Yesterday was the 3rd nigth of riots in the Dansih capitol.

Plans and preparations for the siege on city hall are moving forward. On Saturday the 2nd, the first set of workshops was held and more details on the blocks and their structure was given out.

When its owners abandoned the Junin Clinic in 2002, its workers occupied and reopened this community health centre in Cordoba, Argentina. They have been fighting ever since to provide affordable health care for all. As their struggle with the state and the private owners of the clinic continues into its 6th year, they are now appealing for messages of solidarity from supporters around the world.

The fight for the self-organised spaces of Rigaer 94 has progressed to the next round.
On the 29th of January the court decided in favour of an eviction of parts of Rigaer 94 and a protest action subsequently took place at the Berlin House of Representatives.

At the last Midsummer House demo protesters were told about another reason some people dislike the ‘diseased liver restaurant’… they are taking over our common!

Squatting groups across the Netherlands are up in arms about newly proposed anti-squatting legislation. The 'ban on squatting' would make an end to the country's long and rich tradition of the creation of free spaces. This is the english version of the timeline of the actions today (Saturday 15th December).

Mars Pension Trustees, owners of Fiveways Centre in Birmingham, are threatening to shut it down in the New Year regardless of no planning application having been submitted and no firm proposals for development in place. This will mean the closure of some independent businesses that add great diversity to the corporate landscape of Birmingham City Centre including Cafe One, Fairtrade music venue and meeting space for student and campaign groups inc. Amnesty, Green Party, Respect and Oxfam. No offer of relocation or settlement has been forthcoming as social enterprise is not considered acceptable in the corporatisation of this lively community space.

So we are inviting people involved in all squatted autonomous spaces around the UK to meet and discuss the squatting situation and some preparation for the days of action in April. The idea for this meeting is inspired by the recent international meeting in Dijon.

Movement for Justice in el Barrio, a New York based (mainly Latino migrant) community organisation fighting against gentrification through direct-democracy, and fighting capitalism as adherents of the Zapatista's Other Campaign, want to tour the UK in 2008.

They want to meet with and exchange stories and lessons with anti-gentrification groups, anti-capitalist groups and migrant groups here and begin planning actions against their main enemy, their London based landlord.

Some UK based organisations are up for making this happen, but we need more help.
