Around 80 people came to the public meeting today at the Unitarian church hall to discuss how the fight to reduce global warming can be fought aand won.The meeting was organised by the Campaign Against Climate Change and representatives from across the political spectrum took part in the discussion with the exception,it has to be noted, of the Green Party which for reasons as yet to be explained ,did not take up the offer to help organise the meeting and have a speaker on the platform. This was a shame because it was one of the largest and most important meeting on the environment in Swansea for a long time.
The meeting heard from several local activists of the importance of building a large Swansea delegation to the national demonstation in London on the 3rd December and there was a positive and fraternal atmosphere in the hall despite the speakers representing different political parties and traditions .
Well done to those who organised the meeting and to those who spoke so well from the front and the body of the meeting.
Bertie
