CIA's Top Muslim-Getter Outs Himself: Jose Rodriguez

The scourge of Muslim kidnap and prison victims: Jose A. Rodriguez of the CIA [Aug. 10, 2007] With little fanfare, Jose A. Rodriguez Jr, who heads the National Clandestine Service -- the spies, torturers, and terrorists of the CIA -- had his cover lifted about a month ago. CIA spokesman Mark Mansfield said the driving factor was his interest in publicly participating in minority recruitment events. He's also retiring later this year after more than three decades with the agency.

Urgent Action Needed for Ikram Family

The Ikram Family - Mohammed Kashif, his wife Ansa Kashif and their three children, Farid Ali, Abdul Rehman and Abdul Momin - were detained on Tuesday 31st July at the Home Office in Glasgow when they went to sign on.

The Family were taken to Dungavel Immigration Removal Centre. On Wednesday, after a check up by the doctor at Dungavel, Mohammed was transferred to hospital. Mohammed suffers from high blood pressure and in the past has had to be admitted into hospital in emergencies as a result. They're due to be forcibly removed from the UK on Saturday 4th July at 20:30hrs on a Gulf Air flight number GF006 to Pakistan.

Nine Arrested in International Teachers Blockade of Faslane Nuclear Base

Nine people were arrested early this morning during a Teachers blockade of the Faslane Naval Base in Scotland, home to Britain's Trident Nuclear-Armed Submarines. Six of those arrested had sat down across one of the main accesses to Faslane, to take a peaceful stand against the bullying approach of the nuclear weapons states. Three supporters were also arrested.

UK Greens Back British Environmental Activist Imprisoned in Iceland

Twenty three year old British Saving Iceland activist Miriam R. has been arrested by the Icelandic police. She was protesting against the Icelandic government's support for heavy industry, in particular Rio Tinto Alcan's Straumsvik smelter in South-West Iceland. Reports suggest she is still being held by the police. (1)

8 Young people arrested campaigning for an anti-nuclear future

Next Generation: Our Future Faslane, 28th July 2007 - eight young people from Wales, Germany and Belgium have been arrested this morning, blockading the gate at Faslane Nuclear Base in a protest against the renewal of the British Trident Nuclear weapons system. The blockade came amongst lively and colourful actions carried out by young people from many countries, from Wales and Germany to Japan and the US. The action takes the number of arrests during the “Faslane 365” year long blockade of Faslane naval base to over 900.
