In recent weeks a struggle has begun to emerge at the University of Leeds. The university management is claiming that they need to cut spending by £35 million due to the economic crisis. The lecturers union (UCU) rightfully claims this could cause the loss of 700 jobs. Wildcat Strike at Risley Prison

Prison officers at Risley Prison in Warrington and at two prisons in Lancaster took part in wildcat strikes today in solidarity with staff in Liverpool, who walked out on Tuesday.
