Next month the second Camp for Climate Action will take place in the South of England, near to Heathrow, the world’s busiest international airport. It will be a working ecological village using renewable energy, composting waste and sourcing food locally. The camp is for all who share a vision for sustainable living. Its success depends on us, the people who go. Why not get involved now and help shape Nottingham's contribution to this vital grass-roots movement?

The Childrens' Revolution at the Camp for Climate Action

The Children of the Eco Warriors are likely to be holding another kids' bloc Childrens' Revolution at the Camp for Climate Action near Heathrow Airport from 14 to 21 August.

It is possible that they will lead another march with their banner “The Kids Are Revolting!” in the same way that they did at the Drax power station protest in 2006.

First Directions to The Camp for Climate Action 2007.....

The camp dates are drawing nearer and nearer and we're all desperate to know where it will be... but we'll just have to wait a little longer!

But what we do know is that if you get yourself to Staines railway station in West London by 10am on Tuesday 14th August, you will be greeted by our friendly welcome team and promptly transported via a magical mystery tour, to the camp! (There will also be lifts to the camp later in the day and throughout the week.)

West London residents halt traffic outside DfT Headquarters

West London residents protesting about plans to expand Heathrow dramatically stopped traffic this morning outside the Department for Transport (DfT) offices in Central London before attempting an invasion of the building.

The protestors carried a bed along Marsham Street from the flat of BAA Chief Executive Stephen Nelson (1) to the Department for Transport. In the bed were two figures symbolising the close relationship between BAA and the DfT under the slogan “DfT in bed with BAA”.

Hey all. There will be a meeting on Sat May 5 at 7pm for anyone in Cambridge and East Anglia generally who is interested in going to the Camp for Climate Action on August 14-21, 2007. People who were at last year's camp will talk about what it was like, and we will have a chance to get to know each-other and talk about going as a group to the climate camp.
