“Everybody's doin' media!” said a recent message from the Camp for Climate Action Networking Group, and they invited everyone involved with the Camp to help publicise it by offering information to their local news media.

Here is the full text of the message:
“Hello all climate campers!
“There are only a few weeks to go before the next Climate Camp and we need to make sure that as many people as possible know about it and will join us!

“Although the media team are working hard to get our message through the media, it would be BRILLIANT if all over the country, as many people as possible could try to get onto their local media...
“So, for those who are willing but might be feeling a bit unsure as to how to go about it, here are some bits of info which hopefully will be useful.
“The following link has a great media briefing as well as more links which are all really useful  http://seedsforchange.org.uk/free/media

“Just as a reminder, here are the camp key messages. (Agreed at the Leeds gathering in January 2007).
“There is still time to prevent runaway climate change but we must act now.
“We can’t leave it to business and government, who will look to market based mechanisms and technological fixes instead of tackling the root cause – an economic system based on continual growth and unsustainable consumption.
“The rich are plundering the Earth, and as always the poor will suffer the worst.
“We can all act in our lives, and join together to create a radical movement for social change and climate justice.

“With the fact that our key aims are sustainable living, education and direct action, this is what we want to hammer through the media.
“If you need local media contacts get in touch with us on this address and we'll share what we have.
