Homeless in Tower Hopeless Council estate

Homelessinhomes | 25.07.2013 15:17 | Health | Social Struggles | London | World

With the 'debate' on whether to film Tower Hamlets Council Meetings assuming such importance that Labour Party Candidate for election to Executive Mayor of the Borough if Tower Hamlets has joined the fray, calling the 'debate' over filming 'silly'. It is John Biggs. He reckons that filming and recording of Council Meetings should take place without a row at all.

But has John Biggs who is described by Labour Party career-spokespeople as a London Assembly high-performer, got the message himself? It is the issue of Housing in Tower Hamlets that is the subject of the real debate but Mr Biggs is as far behind as his alleged target of verbal sniping earlier this week, current post-holder Lutfur Rahman. No wonder that so many tenants and residents feel utterly Hopeless in Tower Hopeless! Here is a latest tale" of leaseholders caught in the trap of having properties [or having interests in properties] in the same buildings as are owned by the Tower Hamlets Homes. So when the water leaks, as it has been doing in a flat in the Cable Street area this afternoon, Tower Hamlets Council doesn't want to know!

The building is a Council housing building, which means that flats are small but more to the point they are part of the same architecture, the same design etc.

The fact they are legally differently "owned" makes no difference to the way the leaking affects people.

But Tower Hamlets Homes fiat refused to do anything even to investigate what could be the cause for the leak.

So the tenants.residents are left without any emergency support.

Thanks Maggie, thanks for selling off the council flats and making them now difficult to maintain!

Or live in!

The feeling is one of being homeless in a home!

With so many tall buildings being given planning consent by Tower Hamlets Council, may be the little tenants lives being made extra miserable by water leaks as well is aiding the Agenda of displacing the remaining members of the Community in the East End!

Marvellous one Len McCluskey!

More photo calls on the Cable Street!

Watch out for the condensed, overdue splashes of leaking water!
