Tax Havens: John Christensen from the Tax Justice Network. Annual tax evasion loss to UK exchequer is £70bn plus £25bn in tax avoidance is lost. Three measures that need to be adopted: 1. Automatic Information Exchange when accounts are opened, 2. Require multinational companies to disclose their accounts in every country they operate. 3. Britain must stop blocking tax haven reforms. Eva Rausing, whose death was announced this week, used cruise ship 'The World' as a tax haven. We must end non-domicile status for oligarchs etc., who live in Britain but don't pay tax here. Shadow banking system of Structured Investment Vehicles (SIVs) explained. Presidential candidate Mitt Romney exposed as keeping his wealth in the Cayman Islands.
