Champion Vegan, Vegetarian, and Fruitarian Athletes

Editor | 05.07.2012 19:27 | Animal Liberation | Ecology | Health | South Coast | World

Since the Telegraph, the US' National "Public" Radio, and Yahoo Sports on July 5th chose to make criticize vegan and vegetarian athletes and to publicize critics of a Chinese athlete ban on meat, here is a record of a tiny fraction of the world champion vegan and vegetarian athletes. That same day, NPR, owner of 200 million dollars in fast food stock correlated to human disease, animal agony, global heating, energy waste, and famine, chose to promote fish suffocation and strangulation twice.

Vegan, Vegetarian, and Fruitarian Athlete Champions

Since National "Public" Radio, Yahoo Sports and the Telegraph on July 5th chose to make fun of a Chinese athlete ban on meat, here is a record of a tiny fraction of the world champion vegan and vegetarian athletes. That same day, NPR, owner of 200 million dollars in fast food stock correlated to human disease, animal agony, global heating, energy waste, and famine, chose to promote fish suffocation and strangulation twice.

Dick Gregory, 80, who fasted for a year for the cause of 911 Truth, ran across the United States on a fruit juice diet.

17,003 Consecutive Pushups: World Record Held By Vegetarian
US Marine Corps Captain Alan Jones of Quantico, Virginia was struck by polio when he was five years old. Now a vegetarian, Alan could be the fittest man on Earth by amassing a record of physical accomplishments unmatched by any human that ever lived. He holds the world record for continuous sit-ups (17,003 times). In a 15-months period, he accomplished possibly the most remarkable array of physical achievements ever attained by a human being:

*

Lifted a 75-pound barbell over his head 1,600 times in 19 hours.
*

Made 3,800 basketball free throws in 12 hours, with 96 pc hit rate.
*

Swam 500 miles in 11 days, down a river to the ocean.
*

Skipped rope 43,000 times in 5 hours.
*

Skipped rope 100,000 times in 23 hours.
*

Swam 68 miles in a swimming pool without a sleeping break.
*

Swam half a mile in zero degree Celsius water without a wet suit.
*

Performed 51,000 sit-ups in 76 hours.

Carl Lewis

06.07.2012 21:03

Carl Lewis went vegan in 1990 and won golds at Olympics in 1992 (2) and 1996. Less than 0.01% of the world's population are vegan hence logic would denote there won't be many at the Olympics.

Carl Lewis

meat trumps vegan

06.07.2012 21:10

Michael Phelps eats meat and has won the most gold medals ever

the best

Serena Williams will also be at the Olympics she is raw vegan!

19.07.2012 04:33

Serena Williams is raw vegan and after her Wimbledon win she is favorite at the Olympics. It's amazing to think the vegan population of the world is soooo small and the number of successful vegan athletes is relatively large (if vegans for instance were as good as meat eaters statistically you would probably expect not to have a vegan at the olympics yet - let alone champions). In the olympics you can't really say that Michael Phelps is the greatest Olympian ever because he has won more medals as it's not a level playing field. Swimmers have more medals to go for - so can win more if they are the best swimmer. If you are the best boxer or best weight lifter or best rower there is only won or maybe two you can compete for. It is now widely viewed that Serena Williams is the best female tennis player of all time - so in all real teams as good as Michael Phelps.
