This day...a day in infamy.

Torghatten's Mountain. | 23.07.2011 16:45 | Culture | Terror War | World

Why Norway? The answer is simple. Because it gives quarter to those who leapt into an inner coma of satisfaction and delight upon seeing the destruction of 9/11 writ large across the world. It gives quarter to those who cannot see the terrible injustice of war without end and war without conscience. It gives harbour to those who's hatred of Islam is matched only by the indifference of those around them who will not succumb to such malevolance. It will not go to war, against those who live to give to war. For the people of Norway, the scale and horror of this tragedy, is directly proportional to the scale of the failure of the villainous and morally dishevelled Anders Behring Breivik to fit into an environment hostile to his very existence.

The malevolent media at work.
The malevolent media at work.

Terrorism, the scourge of the West, brought slaughter yesterday to the freindly and civilised streets of one of Europe's most peaceful nations.

And in the gloom, the spectre of those who sit upon its back, driving this beast toward us all, once again raises its talons and casts its malevolent eyes toward its victims. Once again, this ghost to decency arches its back and prepares to smother us to death under a cloud of ignorance and venom.

The Sun and its readers grieve today not for the victims of this terror, but for those they lionise by ommission...the terrorist, the fanatic, the nationalist, the villain, the dealer, the misfit, the manipulator, the stunted and the malformed. Today marks a turning point, today is the day we stand tall, and say with one voice, enough is enough.

How well we remember, from London's 7/7, itself a travesty of brand over faith, the shock and misery when an ordinary summer's day turned into a nightmare of smoke, flames and bodies in the street. How well we remember, the travesty of the calls for war, war and more war by those who would never fight, by those who in the midst of battle, perpetually fall to one crushing and speedy thought above all, flee. How well we remember those voices that would demand that our children be sent to die to serve not the nations defence, but to serve the bloody and villainous blood lust of our most cowardly adults. How well we remember.

Just as on 9/11 in New York and in Madrid in 2004, horror came when least expected, but upon its arrival, surprise turned to disgust as those very same cowards flung our liberties to the wall and handily fashioned defeat from victory without pausing to understand the futility of both.

Why Norway? The answer is simple. Because it gives quarter to those who leapt into an inner coma of satisfaction and delight upon seeing the destruction of 9/11 writ large across the world. It gives quarter to those who cannot see the terrible injustice of war without end and war without conscience. It gives harbour to those who's hatred of Islam is matched only by the indifference of those around them who will not succumb to such malevolence. It will not go to war, against those who live to fight a war. For the people of Norway, the scale and horror of this tragedy, is directly proportional to the scale of the failure of the villainous and morally dishevelled Anders Behring Breivik to fit into an environment hostile to his very existence.

By daring to oppose terrorism...Norway has become a victim of it.

We do not know if the appalling tragedy yesterday is the work of Government's, arms dealers or nefarious geo-strategic politika's or even Satan himself...but we know it is not the work of Al Qaida. We know it not to be the work of that entity claimed by so many here in the UK as reason to kill, maim and slaughter in the name of decency, fair play and the civilised world. We know that those voices do not serve such principles. For those principles derive their strength from the truth, and it is the truth that they war against.

The lessons for us are clear.

Osama Bin laden may be dead, but the tentacles of Al Qaida are alive in the poisonous dungeons of the minds of men who are linked to it. They spread deep into the heart of western nations.

That is why our security cannot be relaxed.

The Government must keep its promise to change the law so our judges can no longer be subject to the toxic influence of the terrorists who toil daily to spread their filth.

We need the decent Muslim majority to help stop their impressionable young men from being recruited to serve the interests of this cartel of orgainsed stupidity and populism.

We must ask ourselves if, like Norway, we offer too cushy a life to this misanthropic breed of animals.

And we must recognise the bogus folly that is the mission in Afghanistan. For that is a mission to appease the deluded sense of honour that bedevils this wooden breed.

Today, our sympathies lie with Norway, our loyal friend and trading partner across the north sea for centuries.

We share their pain, we salute their courage, we stand tall beside them and we offer our solidarity in this time of pain and sorrow in an era of hatred and feeble-minded intolerance.

Today we make a bargain. Today we say to those who have driven these wars and terrorised us all, your time has come. Today, the real heart of this war against the people is discovered. Today is a day the so-called voice of our conscience is dismissed for the charlatan it is and has always been.

We say to the disseminators of this vile doctrine at the Sun and their loyalist cadres...you make many enemies today.

Today, you go too far.

Torghatten's Mountain.
