One of the two graduate students in the law department of King's College London who had planned to collude in an illegal act of Iraeli settlement on occupied Palestinian territory, says that he has not participated as planned.
As part of a campaign promoted by the Israeli Peace Bloc, emails were sent to graduate students Jean-Pierre Gauci and Isla Masson of King's College, London, together with a number of other contributors, asking them to reconsider their decisions to speak at a criminology conference on 30th May at Ariel University Centre in an Israeli settlement on occupied territory that contravenes international law.
The otherwise laudable aims of the conference could be just as well have been achieved somewhere in the Occupied Territories other than an illegal settlement, such as at a hotel or Palestinian university.
On 31st May, Jean-Pierre Gauci stated "I decided last week to withdraw from the conference and in fact have not participated."
