GFEST - Gaywise FESTival 2011 Call for submissions now OPEN
GFEST – Gaywise FESTival has announced the call for entries open to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGB & T) and queer artists on its website:
http://www.gaywisefestival.org.uk The festival accepts submissions in 3 main
categories : Short Films, Visual arts and Performances.

The festival was supported by the Prime minister, Mayor of London and past & present
cultural ministers last year. This will be fifth year for GFEST and Arts Council England has also supported the ever evolving festival programme over the past 4 years.
GFEST was forced to face a controversy last year when its visual arts exhibition was partly deemed unsuitable for some childrens' groups by the exhibition venue in Camden last year.

NIRANJAN KAMATKAR, GFEST director said, “This year our planning is better and we will only work with venues who are committed to promote profile of LGBT, queer arts. The festival offers excellent platform for LGBT films and artworks. GFEST 2011 presents an ideal opportunity for sponsors to show their commitment to LGBT equality in all walks of life.”

Recognised as London's annual gay art fest in November, GFEST was supported by a number of London venues including National Gallery and V & A in the past.
Invaluable to London’s diverse LGBT arts communities

GFEST is internationally recognised as high profile festival by media and other festivals. The festival is supported by celebrities like Stephen Fry, Sarah Waters and Peter Tatchell. Present ministers including Jeremy Hunt, ED Vaizey, Lynn Featherstone, London's Mayor Boris Johnson and former ministers David Lammy MP, Ben Bradshaw MP and Lord Chris Smith had also supported the work of the festival.
