A week after a coalition Government forms in the UK, and the incumbent and highly controversial Labour Government are retired to opposition, campaigners for reform of the British electoral system gather in London to call for a system of Proportional Representation (PR).

The campaign is first evidence of popular recognizance that the British electoral system has the capacity to return excessive representation of one political party also known as 'Colossus Government', much to the detriment of the domestic and international welfare of the nation.

In the last thirty years, the United Kingdom has returned landslide victories for both the Conservative and Labour Governments. In 1979, the Conservative Government won a landslide victory invoking unmitigated deregulation and freedom of capital-markets and privatisation of the UK internal domestic infrastructure which sparked chronic social upheaval and severe disenchantment characterised by city-wide rioting over much of the UK.

The Conservative Government later collapsed in a fit of unpopularity.

In 1997, Britain saw the emergence of a Labour landslide and the invokation of so-called New-Labour, a political movement that saw Britain subscibed to a murderous war involving chronic human rights abuses and major international loss of life and, at its end, finished with one of the most severe domestic financial collapses experienced in the United Kingdoms history.

The campaigners gather under the colour purple (meaning dignity), significant in the United Kingdom for its association with the suffrage movement which fought, and won, political representation for women in the United Kingdom.
