Animal Protection Party UK have no links to Animal Protection Party Germany 1998

Bettina Fischer | 08.02.2010 19:47 | Animal Liberation | Other Press | Social Struggles | South Coast | World

The Animal Protection Party Germany created in 1998 [beginnings 1993] was the first ever Animal Protection Party created out of concern for animals. Dr Gisell Bulla stood in Federal Elections in Germany 1998. The German Animal Protection Party have no links to the UK Animal Protection Party created in late 2006. The Animals Count Party in Holland were created in 2004 when Jasmin De Boo stood.

The German Animal Protection Party were created to take the protection of animals to the top iof the political agenda in Germany in the 1990s.

In Holland the Dutch Party for Animals made big inroads in getting animals into the political mainstream. Jasmin De Boo stood in elections in the Netherlands [Holland]. The party for animals Animals Count in UK was started in 2004.

In 2006 the party SPEAK Political was launched next to SPEAK Campaign and became Animal Protection Party after confusion with name. They are not linked to German Animal Protection Party.

Enclosed is a photo of Gisella Bulla.

It confuses to use same names

08.02.2010 20:54

It is confusing to use same the names. While ideas maybe the same it does confuse to use the same names or almost identical names.
Much of the model used by UK Animal Protection Party has come from ideas adopted from Animals Count but they are rather different political parties for animals.
Animals Count are resolutely peaceful whereas many from Animal Protection Party UK have some support for extremism. The Animal Protection Party in Germany are entirely seperate from Animal Protection Party UK.
The party Animals Count have been so successful the Green Party have asked them not to stand in the same areas as them. Animals Count climbed the Three Peaks [mountains] to raise money for the campaign and to bring the plight of animals to the top of the political agenda in the UK and Netherlands which is amazing and deserving of respect from all.

Screw all parties, especially sellouts like AC

If the Animals Count party gave into the green parties demands then they are not worthy of your support.

Animal Protection Party UK sound like they are far more deserving of your support.

Animals Count are a committed group of people including Alex Bourke

09.02.2010 18:36

Animals Count are a committted and sensible bunch of people and while all animal defenders should be deserving of support I am unhappy about bullying carried out by the Animal Protection Party towards other activists. Keith Mann bad mouthed Rolanda all over the internet, calling her an animal rights "saboteur" and basically told a pack of lies about her via facebook messages and on Indymedia to the whole world. This is unacceptable and unforgivable.
This is not the first or only instance of public online heckling and bullying carried out by the Animal Protection Party towards other activists. God only knows what they are like in real life and their acting like hooligans does nothing to help the animals but puts people ie voters off.
The Green Party asked Animals Count to stand down, they have not done so in every case and their political steps forward are about learning, they are only human. Climbing a mountain and especially three shows dedication and commitment.
Alex Bourke has written a number of Vegan and Vegetarian Guides especially good for new vegans / veggies.
Maybe if the Animal Protection Party stopped behaving like children and playground bullies they might get more respect. Keith has behaved so badly that the damage is probably permanent. He is not the only member of the Animal Protection Party to behave so. Sadly it is the animals that suffer more than thick skinned humans as a result.

Thanks 'anon' - You've just made the APP far more appealing than AC.

Those "extremists" who actually do something to help the animals seem like party I'd want to help, not the sellouts of AC who seem more interested in pandering to "the voters".

Voters are the genreal public and councils make adifferenc to policies

If Animal Rights is something that a Political Party wants to bring to the top of the politcal agenda then this is something that should be done politically.
If the Animal Protection Party are not interestd in votes but are really just another name for the Animal Liberation Front then they are not a political party and their aims therefore are not political.
The people who donate money to them believe them to be a political party and they are giving their money for it to be spent politically. If the APP are not in fact a political party but simply extremists, then in the long run, as part of the bigger picture they will end up looking like a con and the mainstream press will seize upon this.
The APP will be accused of mispending supporters money.

So veganarchist what or who are the APP? Are they a political party or not?

A significant number of people will be put off by the aliens / 12 foot lizards and David Icke stuff...a number of weirdos will love it but then the whole thing loses credibility and starts to attract ridicule. It has to be said that while Keith is the most well known of the activists coming out with this stuff he is not the only one doing so. The whole "party" is full of nutters who believe in and spread outlandish conspiracy theories and stupid crap about aliens, lizards and unseen beings.

If animal cruelty really is to be taken to the top of the political agenda [and the APP claim that as a political party that this is their aim] where laws can be changed to protect animals for example it is illeagl to farm fur in the UK.

The lies and bullying spread about activists when the APP members don't get their own way is despicable. They behave like spoilt children and playground bullies rather than credible and serious political party. It was wrong of them to accuse Rolanda of being a deliberate state saboteur because she was longer able or willing to provide web services. This rubbish was spread via facebook messages to strangers on facebook, other websites and across Indymedia. It was done in a way to incite intrigue and resulted in the APP look like dubious malicious muck spreaders. A great way to attract support from new people. They have done this to other activists too.

Are the APP a political party or not? If not what are they and ahy say they are a political party?

Vote the aliens and lizards out if you are and put them back into their spaceships wherever it is that they have parked them.

It's worth noting that unlike SHAC most APP people have avoided arrest, charges and convictions..not bad if they are in fact ALF and not political....must be the ahead info given from the UFOs......

Point is they are not same party as German Animal Protection Party

10.02.2010 17:10

They have used the same name but are not them. Maybe they should change their name to something else?

I agree the bullying and lying is bad.

Also are they a political party? If not, then they are not.

reformist wank

10.02.2010 18:43

So anon, I've no idea who or what they are, all my info on them has come from your comments here.

Your use of the term 'extremists' betrays your politics.

You are clearly nothing than a liberal has been (never was). Thankfully the type of reformist shite you spout isn't the prevailing opinion on IM.

That said, if the APP areconspiracy nuts they can go into the same pile as AC, Icke, the green party and the labour party.

Veganarchist

Being an extremist and saying you are one are two different things

10.02.2010 23:06

People who bravely and anonymously break into labs to save animals or destroy torture equipment don't announce it first. They don't go arounfd saying "we are extreme" [or words to that effect] like the APP. The APP are a dubious bunch of conspiracy nuts who have more or less fucked up AR, claim to "be extreme" and do nothing much except extract large sums of money from people and go on about aliens, lizards, David Icke and other strange crap. They have bullied, slurred, harrassed and defamed innocent people from AR.

Veganarchsit you are right ...they are shit.

As for the genuine ALF they do it for the animals ...not to sell books about themselves and make a fortune from their "celebrity" like APP members.

The APP say they are politcal but say too that they are "extremist" ...it doesn't work.

What the Animal Protection Party is about

10.02.2010 23:30

I'm not involved with the APP, but their plan is to stand in marginal constituencies and encourage people to switch their vote from the candidate that is most involved with animal abuse. But not necessarily switch to the APP.

They realise they will not get many votes but that isn't the point - it is purely a negative campaign against pro animal abuse candidates, both for the publicity to promote animal rights, and to spoil their chances of winning. This will be both Tory hunting types and Labour types in the pockets of pharmaceuticals.

It's kind of an anti-political party - to expose the corruption of regular politicians and make life more difficult for them. Not to try to get elected.

It's not my kind of campaign, but it's an interesting idea and I wish them luck with it.

vegan

What's the diffrence between abusing people and abusing animals?

11.02.2010 02:18

Abuse is abuse and the APP threaten and abuse people including other AR activists. This abuse is not "one offs" but a common occurance. The rants against Rolanda and others were bang out of order.
All the stuff with aliens, 12 foot lizards, Davis Icke and open cyberbullying and ridicule of others including AR activists is negative. It doesn't encourage people to get involved to help the animals but achieves the opposite which is probably why their shops are allowed to thrive while the police have shut down SHAC stalls. The APP are a waste of money that other campaigns like SHAC who are doing real work to close down HLS etc could do with.

I think that Animals Count have a more realistic and professional approach to making a difference politically and have made an effective and respected difference in helping animals. We need change for the animals...if you want to do this politically do it properly not with a bunch of embarrasing nuts.

To other vegan

11.02.2010 16:42

Sorry but the APP, it's a bit Screaming Lord Sutch. The sad thing is they will come across as "doing it for the animals" then you get sent an email with an essay from David Icke.
Then you'll be sent more weird shit about "how the world is ordered" with some rubbish about how "we move among you unseen, if you see us we will run away"..."we will poison you with tooth fillings to control your mind, and you will never see us".
This just makes the whole thing a complete farce and is fodder for the Daily Mail bunch who will use this to their advantage when they side with people like Oxford University or HLS against people who are there for the animals.

Support SHAC & Animals Count. Give the Animal Protection Party a wide berth

11.02.2010 23:32

As someone who does know the APP, genuine groups like SHAC, SHAC USA, Animal Aid, Uncaged, BUAV, Animals Count etc are all worthy of support.
Give the Animal Protection Party [all of them] a wide berth.
Keith has behaved like a bastard towards Rolanda while the others in the APP have behaved equally as badly and threatened people online for the whole world to read then followed these threats through in real life against innocent people. They behave like yobs, thugs and bullies towards animal rights activists which is the worst that it has got for AR. The animals suffer while they the APP spend time and money harrassing people, lying about people and going on about David Icke, Illuminati and other rubbish.

Annon

i'm not surprised German APP say "we are not involved with them".

11.02.2010 23:59

I don't blame the German APP for saying that they are not the same group as APP UK!

APP harms the animals

27.02.2010 08:42

I agree with all the previous comments left about Keith Mann. He has been exposed to be a complete liar by respected activists. To falsely accuse a loyal animal rights activist of infiltration just because he couldn't get what he wanted anymore is the lowest form of behaviour. How can anyone ever trust Keith Mann again? It seems the more you do for him the more lies he will spread about you once you've outlived usefulness. I've also heard about how he has tried to discredit Greg Avery, another great activist who is not in it for fame or money, unlike Keith Mann. If the people involved with APP had genuine good intentions for the animals they would have put their support behind Animals Count, who were already established, and not set up an opposing party and try to discredit them. If there are two parties trying to gain support from a limited number of voters then both parties will be weakened. If they were genuine they would also not choose to front their campaign with a convicted arsonist who may have (misguided) support from a small amount of extremists but who will never gain any credibility from the public. There must now be a rallying call for APP UK to disband for the animals sake.

Anon

This has spilled over into SHAC and other AR groups.

28.02.2010 19:50

This isn't confined any more to just the APP. SHAC and London Animal Rights have been ruined by some kind of alien cult and it has to stop ..for the animals and the humans involved.

anon

trolling here?

22.03.2010 01:28

Could just be personal infighting, but I suspect there is the hand of state or pro-animal abuse agents here trying to troll and shit-stir.

My experience from animal rights is that people may not necessarily agree with each other or political campaigning, but in general they just let others get on with it if that is what they want to do. I've never heard the Animal Protection Party espouse weird conspiracy theories. I've no idea if they have individual supporters who do or not, but then you get a few people in all sorts of organisations who are into conspiracy theories.
