Northwest Airlines Christmas Day Flight: "Al Qaeda Made Me Do It!”

Rev. Richard Skaff | 04.01.2010 08:14 | Anti-militarism | Anti-racism | Repression | World

There is no better story to confirm the existence of Al Qaida than having an alleged Muslim fundamentalist fumble his attempt to blow up a plane over US soil, then declare to the authorities that Al Qaida instructed him to do it.

As a result of this last Christmas terror incident our Nobel Prize president will continue to expand his low intensity wars in Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, maybe Nigeria and for certain Iran to make us safer and to defeat the mythical Al Qaida.

Northwest Airlines Christmas Day Flight: "Al Qaeda Made Me Do It!”

The rise of patsies and heroes

The Associated Press reported on December 26, 2009 that an attempted terrorist attack on a Christmas Day flight began with a pop and a puff of smoke sending passengers scrambling to subdue a Nigerian man who claimed to be acting on orders from al-Qaida to blow up the airliner, officials and travelers said. [1].

According to the report, the commotion began as Northwest Airlines Flight 253, carrying 278 passengers and 11 crew members from Amsterdam, prepared to land in Detroit just before noon Friday. Travelers said they smelled smoke, saw a glow, and heard what sounded like firecrackers. At least one person climbed over others and jumped on the man, who officials say was trying to ignite an explosive device.

"It sounded like a firecracker in a pillowcase," said Peter Smith, a passenger from the Netherlands . "First there was a pop, and then (there) was smoke." [1]. Smith also added that one passenger, sitting opposite the man, climbed over passengers, went across the aisle and tried to restrain the man. The heroic passenger appeared to have been burned.

The White House said it believed it was an attempted act of terrorism and stricter security measures were quickly imposed on airline travel. The incident was reminiscent of Richard Reid, who tried to destroy a trans-Atlantic flight in 2001 with explosives hidden in his shoes, but failed to light it up and was subdued by other passengers.

The AP report also quoted one law enforcement official who said that the Nigerian man claimed to have been instructed by al-Qaida to detonate the plane over U.S. soil. While another law enforcement official, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said Mutallab's name had surfaced earlier on at least one U.S. intelligence database, but he was not on a watch list or a no-fly list. [1].

Analysis:

There is no better story to confirm the existence of Al Qaida than having an alleged Muslim fundamentalist fumble his attempt to blow up a plane over US soil, then declare to the authorities that Al Qaida instructed him to do it. The story was immediately disseminated into the pipelines of the disinformation media networks that have been hungry and desperate for a sensational story that could get them ratings. The corporate/government media capitalized and magnified the situation and provided 24 hour coverage to ensure that the public is terrified.

Sure enough, the media glorified the citizen hero who attacked the terrorist and subdued him and had burns as a result of his heroism. Promoting heroism in the media is conducive to additional acts of heroism, which could be a distracting factor from the actual facts of a story, because people become emotionally engulfed in the heroic act and will accept any truth that is fed to them.

Ironically Nigeria is a large oil producing country, and holds the largest natural gas reserves in Africa but has limited infrastructure in place to develop the sector. No coincidence that the Christmas 2009 terrorist was a Nigerian. Therefore, Nigeria must be added to the Obama Administration hit list. Apparently, the mystical and mythical Al Qaida has built an empire of networks connecting and reaching every corner of the globe.

Mr. Obama has quickly learned as his predecessor did that the terror card and the low intensity conflict are a necessary evil to hold a weak or unpopular presidency together, as well as to distract the populace from the real issues, rally the public behind their lying politicians, and create defense and security jobs for the military and the Terrorism Industrial Complex (TIC). Let’s not forget that a war based economy thrives on military conflicts.

The alleged Christmas terrorist incident was timely, because it helped revive the myth of Al Qaida and reaffirmed its existence. As a result, an unreliable patsy with alleged powdered explosives and firecrackers would corroborate the existence of a myth that once was and maybe still is a mercenary division of the Western intelligence community.

Consequently, a multibillion dollar industry of security body scans will unravel, and every flying citizen of the world will be exposed to a low level X-rays at the airport to ensure that his or her naked body is bomb free; meanwhile the American embassies will continue to issue visas to known terrorists/patsies listed in their data base (as in the case of the Christmas terrorist Mr. Abdulmutallab), who will attempt and botch up terrorists attacks on the homeland, in order to escalate the war on terror and to establish at home a military state instead of our beloved republic. Meanwhile over one million innocent American citizens remain on the Bush-Obama watch/no fly list.

It would be more efficient and cheaper for the airlines and TSA to deter terror attempts IF THE UNITED STATES EMBASSIES ABROAD WOULD STOP ISSUING VISAS TO SUSPECTED TERRORISTS, rather than purchasing these multimillion dollar invasive machines that will strip us all of every inch of human dignity under the guise of safety.

Ironically, the masses will always relinquish their liberty and personal rights for their safety. It is a primal state of mind and every government knows it.

Let’s remember that war is peace, and the price for this proclamation is a Nobel Prize.

Surely, Iran will eventually be the biggest trophy that the Anglo-American-Israeli Axis will achieve, once the ongoing destabilizing process succeeds. However, Iran’s religious homogeneity might become an obstacle for the prospective balkanization process that has been conducted in that country by the Western intelligence agencies. However, the option of a low intensity war that will destroy the alleged Iranian nuclear facilities remains on the table, and can be implemented at any time by the Anglo-American-Israeli Axis as a result of a contrived incident that will point the finger to Iran as the culprit.

Iranians unlike their Israeli foes are not the Anglo-American establishment's chosen people; therefore, they are evil and must be destroyed. Meanwhile, Israel will continue to have their 200 strategic nuclear warheads pointed at every city in the Middle East and Europe . It is the covenant of power, money, and greed that binds the Anglo-American-Israeli Axis.

Conclusion:

As predicted in my previous articles, Mr. Obama will continue his predecessor’s (George W. Bush) holy work of cleansing the world from Islamo-fascists by waging preemptive wars, reducing population, hoarding oil wells all over the globe, castrating Russia, and containing China while bankrupting America .

US general urges strip search of Muslim men

04.01.2010 08:21

A retired US general and member of Iran Policy Committee (IPC) says all 18 to 28 years old Muslim men should be strip searched at airports as "one of these bombers" will explode an airliner in the coming days.

Thomas McInerney, a retired Lt. Genera with the US Air Force, told Fox News television on Saturday that within the next 30 to 120 days, "there is a danger of high probability" awaiting US airliners.

"If you are an 18 to 28-year-old Muslim man then you should be strip searched. And if we don't do that there's a very high probability we're going to lose an airline," he said.

The retired general went on to say that US officials should profile all Muslims. "We have to use profiling. And I mean be very serious and harsh about the profiling."

Asked if such a racial approach would not "generate more hatred and violence towards the West," McInerney said he did not want "a racial profile."

"I want to profile on that group that we have enough evidence from 9/11, and other [high-profile] cases that we know what we are looking at," he said.

The suggestions made by the US retied general comes on the heels of a purported bomb attack on a US transatlantic airliner on Christmas Day by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a Nigerian who allegedly received al-Qaeda training in Yemen.

2010: U.S. To Wage War Throughout The World

04.01.2010 08:31

U.S. Global Command and Control System (GCCS)
U.S. Global Command and Control System (GCCS)

January 1 will usher in the last year of the first decade of a new millennium and ten consecutive years of the United States conducting war in the Greater Middle East.

Beginning with the October 7, 2001 missile and bomb attacks on Afghanistan, American combat operations abroad have not ceased for a year, a month, a week or a day in the 21st century.

The Afghan war, the U.S.'s first air and ground conflict in Asia since the disastrous wars in Vietnam and Cambodia in the 1960s and early 1970s and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's first land war and Asian campaign, began during the end of the 2001 war in Macedonia launched from NATO-occupied Kosovo, one in which the role of U.S. military personnel is still to be properly exposed [1] and addressed and which led to the displacement of almost 10 percent of the nation's population.

In the first case Washington invaded a nation in the name of combating terrorism; in the second it abetted cross-border terrorism. Similarly, in 1991 the U.S. and its Western allies attacked Iraqi forces in Kuwait and launched devastating and deadly cruise missile attacks and bombing sorties inside Iraq in the name of preserving the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kuwait, and in 1999 waged a 78-day bombing assault against Yugoslavia to override and fatally undermine the principles of territorial integrity and national sovereignty in the name of the casus belli of the day, so-called humanitarian intervention.

Two years later humanitarian war, as abhorrent an oxymoron as the world has ever witnessed, gave way to the global war on terror(ism), with the U.S. and its NATO allies again reversing course but continuing to wage wars of aggression and "wars of opportunity" as they saw fit, contradictions and logic, precedents and international law notwithstanding.

Several never fully acknowledged counterinsurgency campaigns, some ongoing - Colombia - and some new - Yemen - later, the U.S. invaded Iraq in March of 2003 with a "coalition of the willing" comprised mainly of Eastern European NATO candidate nations (now almost all full members of the world's only military bloc as a result of their service).

The Pentagon has also deployed special forces and other troops to the Philippines and launched naval, helicopter and missile attacks inside Somalia as well as assisting the Ethiopian invasion of that nation in 2006. Washington also arms, trains and supports the armed forces of Djibouti in their border war with Eritrea. In fact Djibouti hosts the U.S.'s only permanent military installation in Africa to date [2], Camp Lemonier, a United States Naval Expeditionary Base and home to the Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), placed under the new U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) when it was launched on October 1, 2008. The area of responsibility of the Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa takes in the nations of Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Yemen and as "areas of interest" the Comoros, Mauritius and Madagascar.

That is, much of the western shores of the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, among the most geostrategically important parts of the world. [3]

U.S. troops, aerial drones, warships, planes and helicopters are active throughout that vast tract of land and water.

With senator and once almost vice president Joseph Lieberman's threat on December 27 that "Yemen will be tomorrow's war" [4] and former Southern Command chief and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Wesley Clark's two days later that "Maybe we need to put some boots on the ground there," [5] it is evident that America's new war for the new year has already been identified. In fact in mid-December U.S. warplanes participated in the bombing of a village in northern Yemen that cost the lives of 120 civilians as well as wounding 44 more [6] and a week later "A US fighter jet...carried out multiple airstrikes on the home of a senior official in Yemen's northern rugged province of Sa'ada...." [7]

The pretext for undertaking a war in Yemen in earnest is currently the serio-comic "attempted terrorist attack” by a young Nigerian national on a passenger airliner outside of Detroit on Christmas Day. The deadly U.S. bombing of the Yemeni village mentioned above occurred ten days earlier and moreover was in the north of the nation, although Washington claims al-Qaeda cells are operating in the other end of the country. [8]

Asia, Africa and the Middle East are not the only battlegrounds where the Pentagon is active. On October 30 of 2009 the U.S. signed an agreement with the government of Colombia to acquire the essentially unlimited and unrestricted use of seven new military bases in the South American nation, including sites within immediate striking distance of both Venezuela and Ecuador. [9] American intelligence, special forces and other personnel will be complicit in ongoing counterinsurgency operations against the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in the nation's south as well as in rendering assistance to Washington's Colombian proxy for attacks inside Ecuador and Venezuela that will be portrayed as aimed at FARC forces in the two states.

Targeting two linchpins of and ultimately the entire Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), Washington is laying the groundwork for a potential military conflagration in South and Central America and the Caribbean. After the U.S.-supported coup in Honduras on June 28, that nation has announced it will be the first ALBA member state to ever withdraw from the Alliance and the Pentagon will retain, perhaps expand, its military presence at the Soto Cano Air Base there.

A few days ago "The Colombian government...announced it is building a new military base on its border with Venezuela and has activated six new airborne battalions" [10] and shortly afterward Dutch member of parliament Harry van Bommel "claimed that US spy planes are using an airbase on the Netherlands Antilles island of Curaçao" [11] off the Venezuelan coast.

In October a U.S. armed forces publication revealed that the Pentagon will spend $110 million to modernize and expand seven new military bases in Bulgaria and Romania, across the Black Sea from Russia, where it will station initial contingents of over 4,000 troops. [12]

In early December the U.S. signed a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) with Poland, which borders the Russian Kaliningrad territory, that "allows for the United States military to station American troops and military equipment on Polish territory." [13] The U.S. military forces will operate Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) and Standard Missile 3 (SM-3) batteries as part of the Pentagon's global interceptor missile system.

At approximately the same time President Obama pressured Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to base missile shield components in his country. "We discussed the continuing role that we can play as NATO allies in strengthening Turkey's profile within NATO and coordinating more effectively on critical issues like missile defense," [14] in the American leader's words.

"Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has hinted his government does not view Tehran [Iran] as a potential missile threat for Turkey at this point. But analysts say if a joint NATO missile shield is developed, such a move could force Ankara to join the mechanism." [15]

2010 will see the first foreign troops deployed to Poland since the breakup of the Warsaw Pact in 1991 and the installation of the U.S's "stronger, swifter and smarter" (also Obama's words) interceptor missiles and radar facilities in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the South Caucasus. [16]

U.S. troop strength in Afghanistan, site of the longest and most wide-scale war in the world, will top 100,000 early in 2010 and with another 50,000 plus troops from other NATO nations and assorted "vassals and tributaries" (Zbigniew Brzezinski) will represent the largest military deployment in any war zone in the world.

American and NATO drone missile and helicopter gunship attacks in Pakistan will also increase, as will U.S. counterinsurgency operations in the Philippines and Somalia along with those in Yemen where CIA and Army special forces are already involved.

U.S. military websites recently announced that there have been 3.3 million deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001 with 2 million U.S. service members sent to the two war zones. [17]

In this still young millennium American soldiers have also deployed in the hundreds of thousands to new bases and conflict and post-conflict zones in Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Colombia, Djibouti, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Mali, the Philippines, Romania, Uganda and Uzbekistan.

In 2010 they will be sent abroad in even larger numbers to man airbases and missile sites, supervise and participate in counterinsurgency operations throughout the world against disparate rebel groups, many of them secular, and wage combat operations in South Asia and elsewhere. They will be stationed on warships and submarines equipped with cruise and long-range nuclear missiles and with aircraft carrier strike groups prowling the world's seas and oceans.

They will construct and expand bases from Europe to Central and South Asia, Africa to South America, the Middle East to Oceania. With the exception of Guam and Vicenza in Italy, where the Pentagon is massively expanding existing installations, all the facilities in question are in nations and even regions of the world where the U.S. military has never before ensconced itself. Practically all the new encampments will be forward bases used for operations "down range," generally to the east and south of NATO-dominated Europe.

U.S. military personnel will be assigned to the new Global Strike Command and for expanded patrols and war games in the Arctic Circle. They will serve under the Missile Defense Agency to consolidate a worldwide interceptor missile network that will facilitate a nuclear first strike capability and will extend that system into space, the final frontier in the drive to achieve military full spectrum dominance.

American troops will continue to fan out to most all parts of the world. Everywhere, that is, except to their own nation's borders.

U.S. to search all air travelers from 14 "terrorist" states

04.01.2010 11:25

New U.S. air traveller screening focuses on 14 nations

by James Vicini, Reuters, 4 January 2010

Air travellers from Nigeria, Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and nine other countries will face full-body pat downs before boarding airliners under new security screening procedures targeting foreign passengers announced by the United States on Sunday.

The procedures, which go into effect on Monday, follow the botched Christmas Day bombing attempt on a Detroit-bound U.S. airliner blamed on a Nigerian man who U.S. officials believe was trained by al Qaeda in Yemen.

Passengers travelling from or through nations listed as "state sponsors of terrorism" -- Cuba, Iran, Sudan and Syria -- as well as Afghanistan, Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia and Yemen will face heightened screening, an Obama administration official said.

Nearly all of those are Muslim countries.

Such passengers will be patted down, have their carry-on luggage searched and could undergo advanced explosive detection or imaging scans, according to the official, who spoke on condition on anonymity.

The Transportation Security Administration, the U.S. agency responsible for air security measures, announced the "enhanced screening" procedures, adding that any passengers on U.S.-bound flights could be subjected to random security searches.

U.S. Transportation Security Administration Statement on New Security Measures for International Flights to the U.S.

Transportation Security Administration website, 3 January 2010

Today, the Transportation Security Administration issued new security directives to all United States and international air carriers with inbound flights to the U.S. effective January 4, 2010.

The new directive includes long-term, sustainable security measures developed in consultation with law enforcement officials and our domestic and international partners.

Because effective aviation security must begin beyond our borders, and as a result of extraordinary cooperation from our global aviation partners, TSA is mandating that every individual flying into the U.S. from anywhere in the world traveling from or through nations that are state sponsors of terrorism or other countries of interest will be required to go through enhanced screening. The directive also increases the use of enhanced screening technologies and mandates threat-based and random screening for passengers on U.S. bound international flights.

It's already problematic for people from Pakistan to get into the US. My friend's brother was due to go on a trip with his university (he's from Pakistan but born in Britain). He applied for a US visa months earlier than the rest of his class, had his professor send letters confirming he was a genuine student, and got turned back at the border.

ADDING TO THE MYTHS/FACTS/OPINIONS

Although i agree with some of the stuff you say about the Terrorism Corporation/Complex, (ie. the "shady" aspects of the intelligence "community" of the US/UK) i must affirm to you that there actually are a loose network of islamic and other groups, believe it or not, an informal grouping, even right wing, EVEN white supremacy groups/individuals, that have met and chatted and networked for nearly two decades.

I believe this to be the actual forerunner of the modern day alqaida, although no such group as alqaida, as the state line tells us, exists...this we have long known. but a "kind of" alqaida does exist around the globe.

ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN:

For the main jist of what im saying, read this: alqaida as the USA says exists DOES NOT.
A kind of "alqaida", a loosely-associated grouping of anti federal state militants of the globe, DOES.
The CIA manipulate both.

For the "better" explanation, and more clues, read on:

This informal group of different militants, whether some islamic or some right wing/supremacists, have acted and sworn to act against, the united states federal government and all its tentacles, by any means.

For example, there are over half a million "extremists" in america that are NOT 'classed' islamic, but they do seek to over throw the federal state. these are often referred to, and some are, right wing and/or supremacist.

It is from these groups that allegiances have been formed with islamic militants, not "types" wanting a caliphate or to kill "non-believers", but those "non-shariac or talibanic" islamic activists who want a war against the federal state to free their home lands.
Such "non talebanic" islamic militants exist.

Their ideas and actions are spun in to "alqaida" or "islamic extremists" but in reality they can sometimes be our comrades in our fight against the states, too.

These groups do not wish islamic rule on the west, only to battle the federal state. It is these militants that often get set up as "talibanic" or "extreme"- this makes people think they want to subjugate all woman and pop music.

Yes some do, the "real taliban", out of pakistan/afghanistan late 80's to mid-90's onwards, but there are lots of islamic militants who just want their home lands free.Like the Mujuhadeen, for example, for freedom fighting in arab lands, these newer, global mujuhadeen, seek freedom by attacking american interests and infrastructure. Their tactic is lots different from the "Talibanic" fighters.

This recent detroit 'alleged-would-be-bomber" is of the "fake" alqaida kind, although it is of the "talibanic extremist" side.

Whereas the islamic militants that helped, or were manipulated to, bomb oklahoma were the "anti federal american state" side.

The line is very blurred, but there is a line.

It is this loose group, and I stress LOOSE, connected by ideology and some informal meetings and links, such as a secret conference of anti-american militants in the phillipines in the early 90's, which the CIA led complex takes advantage, and in some cases, complete control of.

It is this group, perhaps containing around 20-30 separate, global militant groups, acting and linking on behalf of say, 5000 or 6000 people ready to wage complete war against america, NOT for a caliphate, but for world freedom, that has been manipulated in to the "alqaida" of modern legend.

The press and the governments want everyone to believe that their "alqaida" wants a global caliphate.

They could never admit that there are militants from islamic groups that DO NOT WANT A GLOBAL CALIPHATE, they want a free home land. An open position on this issue would breed further resentment from the American public towards the state if "all they want is to be free in their homelands" rather than the usual public line of "hang em couz they want to make us muslims". Which policy do you think gets votes? Which do you think keeps wars fought? Figure it out yourself.

Interestingly, what is not widely known, and i shall state my sources for you to check, is that a number of "arab looking" suspects were seen, and witnesses stated they had seen them, with tim mcveigh and terry nichols, before (on reconns) and during (keeping lookout, driving suspects) the oklahoma bombing 1995, down town oklahoma.

Evidence at the time also stated FBI informants inside a potential "islamic terror cell" were feeding info to FBI about plot to bomb oklahoma. That informant, who was an arab/muslim man, was told by the FBI to infiltrate the group, which he did. The "group" turned put to be terry nichols and tim mcveigh, otherwise known as the oklahoma bombers, both "right wingers" and "extremists".

Now, each of the IdentiKit evidence 'wanted pictures' stating "arab looking guys", were called John Doe. The police do this til they get a name.
So each seperate "arab looking" guy had a different John Doe sketch and details from witnesses and a number, like John Doe 6, for example.
The number of "arab looking" John Does from the evidence of who bombed the alfred b murrah building is anywhere from 4 john does to 8.
Including the right wing extremists involved, that would mean that potentially nearly 10 involved but only two, the proper patsies, were picked up on it.

My main source, added and complimentary to all the other info available to me out there, is the book, Oklahoma Bombing and the Politics of Terror, by D. Hoffman.
A brilliantly researched and well written book, began as police were still collecting information from witnesses at ground zero, with all the clues and some answers to the mystery surrounding the "true" alqaida and the "fake, CIA" alqaida. Bare in mind the book was written in the mid-nineties, all of four or five years BEFORE 9/11...an event that was predicted in the book, almost to the letter.

cheers.

PPS.if anyone cares, by my own reckoning, osama bin laden, THE REAL OSAMA BIN LADEN, ticks the "non-talibanic, non-shariac" islamist fighter box. Due mainly to the fact that he has stated in interviews he sees that there should be no worry between western states and arab ones if the WEST LEAVE THEM ALONE, withdraw from their borders and leave iraq, afghanistan and palestine. Also due to the fact that it would have been hard for the CIA to hire, train and fund his groups of mujuhadeen in afghanistan if he was 'pro-taliban, pro-shariac'. He was pro-freedom for islamic communities........(would a committed 'talibanic fighter" have anything to do with the west?) Think about it.............
PPPS.the taliban are a very strict school of islamic students and fighters, committed to shariac law and enforcement. they are not mujuhadeen, in the classical sense. two different groups, basically.
