Action Against Hunger challenges Al Gore to put malnutrition back on the agenda

Action Against Hunger is mounting pressure on Al Gore to produce a film on the world’s greatest health problem.

Contending for Al Gore’s attention, hunger activists are challenging the former vice-president by creating a trailer for ‘his next movie’, entitled No Hunger. Over 63,700 have already watched the trailer online and signed up urging Al Gore to make it into a feature film.

Through the success of the documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore has raised considerable global awareness around the issue of climate change. Public demand is now insisting that his next film addresses the urgent need of putting an end to malnutrition, which claims the lives of 5 million children every year.

Unopposed to the idea, a spokesperson for Al Gore recently commented in Time Magazine: ‘It’s quirky. I have to admit it’s a good idea’.

Spurred on by the response, Action Against Hunger has been soliciting key-figures in the movie world to add their voices in their quest to get Al Gore to make No Hunger. Sign-ups already include Verne ‘Mini Me’ Troyer and Emma ‘The Science of Sleep’ de Caunes. Their petition will then be presented to the former Vice-President in December at the climate change conference in Copenhagen.
