One Palestinian man was killed on Wednesday midday and four others are still missing inside the ruble as a tunnel collapsed at the southern Gaza-Egypt boarders. The Palestinian ministry of health in Gaza reported that Assad Al Kilani, 43, arrived dead at the hospital of the boarder Rafah city. The ministry added that rescue workers are still looking for another four workers who were inside the tunnel when it collapsed.
Earlier two men were killed in the Gaza strip on Wednesday morning during two deferent incidents, Palestinians sources reported. A Palestinian man who works at the Palestinian Authority was found dead in his house located at Dier Al Balah town in central Gaza Strip. Local sources said that the man was founded shot in the head, no further details were issued.
Meanwhile an Egyptian man was shoot and killed by the Egyptian troops at the southern Gaza-Egypt borders. The man managed to cross into the Strip but was spotted by an Egyptian unit at the borders and was gunned down while inside the Palestinian controlled side of the borders.
In related news, The Israeli cabinet security and political committee ordered Wednesday the military to respond at any Palestinians attacks from the Gaza Strip. The committee met today to discuss the increasing international pressure to open border crossings into the Gaza Strip, as well to debate ways to responded at attacks from Gaza.
Israeli placed the coastal region under crippling siege since June 2007. 337 Palestinians have died due to lack of medicine and medical equipments in Gaza due to the siege.
The Israeli Prime Minister's Office issued a statement following the meeting on Wednesday, saying that Israel holds Hamas accountable for any attack from Gaza. The statement added that Israeli will look at the possibility to ease the restrictions on allowing supplies into the coastal strip but security for Israel is the main interest.
The latest decision comes two day after a group of Palestinian fighters attacked Israeli soldiers operating inside the Gaza borders. Four fighters were killed in the attack. The group responsible for the attack, the army of Islam, said its fighters were trying to capture Israeli soldiers.
In the West Bank three Palestinians civilians were kidnapped by the Israeli military on Wednesday at dawn during an invasion targeting the southern city of Hebron. Also in Hebron today, one Israeli settler was injured when Palestinian youth hurled stones at his car at the settlers’ road just outside Hebron city. Medical sources said that the settler sustained moderate wounds.
