An Israeli settler ran over and killed a Palestinian man in Jerusalem, while the Israeli navy recover the body of Palestinian man off the Gaza coast but refuse to hand it over to the Red Cross; these stories and more coming up stay tuned.

The News Cast

An Israeli settler ran over a Palestinian man and killed him in east Jerusalem on Tuesday morning.

Local sources said Mohamed Ali, 27, is from Sho’fat refugee camp in Jerusalem, he was crossing a street near the illegal settlement of Pisghat Za’ev and the French Hill when the settler ran him over, causing him fatal injuries. Elsewhere on Tuesday at least 15 Palestinian civilians were kidnapped during Israeli military invasions which targeted a number of communities across the West Bank.

Local sources said that the attacks and kidnappings took place in the cities of Qalqilia, Nablus and Jenin, in northern west Bank, as well as in Hebron and Bethlehem in the south. In related news the Israeli military ordered eight families from the village of Akraba near the northern West Bank city of Nablus to leave their homes.

The army order gave the families 48 hours to leave .Ghassan Dughlass, from Nablus city council, reports that the army says the homes are too close to the nearby settlement of Mokhier. Mokhier is an illegal Israeli settlement built on land stolen from the village of Akraba. The villagers say settlers attack them frequently and that often the army helps them.

In Gaza the Israeli navy recovered the body of a Palestinian man from the sea just off the northern Gaza coast whilst on patrol the area.

Local Palestinian sources said that the Israeli navy has not handed the body to the Red Cross so it can be sent to the Palestinian health ministry for identification. Local police say that two Gaza men have drowned this week, but they do not yet know the identity of the man found today.

Since Israel's 22 month long siege on Gaza took effect the Israeli navy patrols often attack Palestinian fishermen when they sail into Palestinian territorial waters.
