Today started the trial of the leftist Yiorgos Voutsis (son of Nicolas Voutsis a leading member of the parliamentary Left wing Party SYRIZA) and Vogiatzis in the Athens courts accused for the armed attack and attempt of robbery of a branch of National Bank of Greece in Gyzi area in October 2007. The accusations addressed include also the possession of explosives.
The disgrace and the tragedy for the Greek Justice system is the fact that the three (3) out of total four (4) jurors, are employees of the National Bank of Greece who is in fact the Bank that was attacked and is the prosecutor. The demand of the lawyers to replace this unacceptable for this case jury was rejected by the court and this fact leaves a clear suspicion for bias of the court.
