athens.indymedia.org taken down?

i'm not part of the team so just wanted to let folks know athens.indymedia.org has vanished since friday, 26 feb 2009. could it be related to the uk seizure?

the general clampdown has been ongoing. google also revealed to greek authorities the identity of a greek blogger who turned out to be a member of the editorial team of a well-known financial newspaper.

the take-down has been well timed. just as many significant actions have been developing and are being coordinated, and a serious attack by fascist elements against squatters of a downtown athens park took place on saturday morning leaving 2 in critical condition.

one of the current greek independent media alternatives appears to be indy.gr

keep up the resistance.

rights exist to be exercised. not to make couch-zombie breeding-farm populations feel good about virtual democracies.
