Tthe TPA went ballistic about a local project even though it was helping get children off the street and saving thousands of pounds of money otherwise spent removing graffiti or dealing with crime. The TPA's attitude confirms the view that the TPA's aim isn't to stand for all taxpayers, just the very rich ones.
Another point. The recent 'British Jobs for British Workers' strikes by workers up north also highlighted the hypocrisy of anti-European libertarians. See, libertarians are supposed to be all about free movement of people. But they are usually also very anti-European. So we got was this funny situation where libertarians, such as Tim Worstall, were saying people only had Europe to blame for the strikes because they stopped countries discriminating against workers across Europe.
So, libertarians want their cake and eat it too. They want to blame the government (or Europe) if laws restricted freedom of movement because it goes against their philosophy. But since it's the EU who passed the law, they also want to blame the EU for the strikes even if it's a law they agree with!
