Will you be showing

22.01.2009 09:24

Another poster with a Jewish kid having an RPG flying towards him?

Just for the sake of balance to show how stupid both fucking sides are.

Or does it matter less if your kill by inferior technology.

Yes Israel is a bully but both sides target civilians and thats a war crime.

Balance

balance?

22.01.2009 10:41

balance? one side massacres 1300 in a matter of days with the most advanced deadly weaponry known to humans (short of the a bomb), while the other has manged to kill 8 people with home made rockets (not RPGs) fired into land stolen from them with little ability to aim. fuck off with your fascist apologetics.

Giving the people of Gaza a voice.

22.01.2009 10:47

If the people of gaza want to drop lumps of metal on their own land (which I,m sure they don't) then it is up to them.

If the Israelis are stupid enough to insist on living and playing on this land then they are fools of the highest order.

50% of the IDF who have recently lost their lifes did so through their own friendly fire.

If the Israelis don,t like it they can move to any where in the world.

The people of Gazas do not have this luxary.

Unbalanced

So those 8 lives don't matter to you? Or are they justified killings? Certainly Israels loses are mainly soldiers so they certainly should count less. But firing rockets at civilians is never a good thing. Trying to say otherwise is just wrong.

I'm happy to condemn both sides for doing things they shouldn't. I'm also happy to say Israel is far worse. I won't whitewash what the other side does though.

Sorry for having a different view to you. I'm even sorrier that your either to blinkered to accept that both sides are at fault or worse...

If there is a fascist here its not me... And I'm not the one posting propaganda pictures...

Just in case

Anyone thinks I'm an Israel apologist. I'm appalled by their illegal use of Phosphorus weapons in heavily populated civilian areas.

there is only one possible view

22.01.2009 14:07

You must believe that the entire history of the Israel/Palestine conflict boils down to 'Israel is simply a satanic state which does evil things because of its evil nature.' Anything more complicated, nuanced, or historically informed than that and you've missed Latuff's point.

Also, no Israeli children have teddy bears, because Israelis hate teddy bears. That's why the plane is shooting at one.

nuance is for fools

Its those with no opinion that scare me

Latuff is a good artist. A good artists gets people talking and thats what we are doing here.

None of us here have the moral or intellectual high ground.

It is not a good thing that a drop of civilian blood is shed through violence - where ever in the world they are from.

We sld not argue. The people in Gaza and all war zones are still trapped into a nightmare of a situation.

How do we help Gaza effectively and immediately?

Holocaust in Gaza

22.01.2009 16:58

If you wonder why Indymedia is being flooded by obscene posts supporting the jewish-Israeli Holocaust in Gaza (and remember, the Israeli government promised a 'Shoah' in Gaza early in 2008), please refer to the recent initiative to recruit Israeli terrorists to flood sites like this:

 http://www.uruknet.info/?p=m51021&hd=&size=1&l=e

'Balance' and other Holocaust-deniers will be every more common on Indymedia in the coming days, any will notice a complete reluctance by the mods here to censor their posts (which wouldn't matter if this place didn't use censorship at all).

The holocaust in Gaza was the greatest industrialised rapid slaughter of unarmed people seen since WW2. The consequence of labelling the elected government of the Palestinians as 'terrorists' is a racist atrocity of the most depraved, vile, sick and evil nature. Yet every leader of the West agrees that Israel had the right to exterminate members of the Government, alongside every member of their family, including the youngest children.

If Israel had not been given permission by the West to murder the legally elected government of the Palestinians, it would have not been able to destroy Gaza, and butcher so many children. Hitler's war crimes were all justified by the nazis on the basis of their right to exterminate the governments of 'enemy' nations.

Yep, Godwins law. Does that mean I win? Personally I'm not into cheap points scoring, just against civilian suffering. ( which means I'm also against gas chambers and Nazi's)

I make a point saying both sides are doing bad things and I openly condemn Israel.

But for someone this is just a front and I'm suddenly a being attributed a viewpoint thats not been discussed... Somepeople here have an agenda and I'm wondering if its really a Pro palestine or if its just anti Israel.

Feel free to hide from the issues you want to paper over. I'm sure you'll find an audience for simplistic anti israel messages. If you ever feel brave enough to look at both sides of the coin you might then be on the path that will lead to a solution...

Hate is easy... Don't take the easy option.

One final thought for you. Israel couldn't operate without its arab workers. A couple of months of peaceful civil strike could do more harm than rockets ever could. And it could impact the whole of the country.

"The holocaust in Gaza was the greatest industrialised rapid slaughter of unarmed people seen since WW2."

Sadly this isn't true. If you want to be really shocked you should take a look at what happens, even now, in africa on a regular basis. A truck with a machine gun in the back might not be as high tech as an F15 but it can slaughter village after village. If you want industrial slaughter on a large scall have a look there. ( I'm hoping your just anti israel and there isn't a distasteful case of racism going on here).

For the record I agree with you that the elected government of Palestine should be recognised.

Fight the Israeli trolls; should be renamed Troll as the alternative is to unpleasent to consider.

Oh yeah?

23.01.2009 09:48

Actually, 'balanced', you either you are a fool or a liar.

Fair enough, you 'openly condemn israel', but sandwiched around that are the familiar claims.

1. Equidistance. In this mantra, we see the attempt to formulate in the minds of the reader the notion that both sides are equally to blame. In this nether world of moral relativism, we are expected to forget chronology, the literny of crimes commited by the zionist warmachine and the political/religious doctrine from which these things spring.

Not good enough.

The Palestinians are the ones dispossed, it is their villages that lie buried beneath the spread of westernised israeli settlements and their national aspirations that lie crushed and bleeding next to the hundreds of dead children ... and you want us to accept an equality there?

May you rot in hell for such.

2. You assert that israel could not do without Palestinian workers. Maybe a 'fact' once, but the exponential growth in foreign labour within israel is rapidly making this 'fact' dissapear ... like the old place names on the 'new' maps of arab-free israel. Besides, the true relationship is that many Palestinian families are virtually forced to work for israeli 'farmers' and 'businesses' because these enterprising americans and russians and europeans have absorbed the once Palestinian owned resources - often at the point of the gun. A national strike may sound like a dandy thing to you, but it sounds like slow starvation to most Palestinians in such a position - a point not lost on the authorities (note that word 'authorities') that created the situation.

3. Same old same old trick ... 'look, there are worse places in the world than israel'. Oh yeah, you think? Good for you, start a thread about 'em. Meanwhile we want to talk about the manifest war crimes of 'that place' here thank you.

4. Top points also for the very subtle way in which you intimate that opposition here is generated by an agenda of 'anti-israel' proportions. You got that right, but I think your megaphne handlers expect a less subtle approach ... stick to the old fashioned 'anti-semitism' emergency get out clause if that is what you mean.

Know this, some have take the trouble to sign up to the GIYUS propagander machine and know your tactics beforehand. You cannot dissapate our anger this way, nor can you redirect our efforts towards anything less than the destruction of the current form of israeli - jew only - 'statehood' and its replacement by a secular inclusive Palestinian one.

Sigh

I'm not attempting to do this. I'd ask you to stop projecting your own views onto me but I know you won't. Your right, everyone else is wrong. Anyone who disagrees with you is a troll, or a nazi or an Israel sympathizer.

I'm happy to agree Israel is far worse. But I'm not willing to excuse the actions of the people who fire rockets into Israel. Often at civilian areas.

Its ironic that despite posting the above you don't seem willing to admit that any of the blame can be on the other side.

You are happy to excuse the action of one side completely due to the actions of the other.

The fact that people have to try and imply I've said or made claims I've not ( I never brought the holocaust into this) suggest to me that someone is not wanting to look at this situation, only part of it.

No doubt just the part that suits their views.

If you don't want to accept that both sides are in the wrong ( with one side being several miles past the line of acceptable behavior) thats fine. But its clear to me that they are.

Israel is more wrong. But the only way for this to end is for both sides to admit they are wrong and move on from it. Otherwise we just get decades more of bloodshed. Israel would also have to come up with some pretty massive reparations as well for the death, damage and destruction they've inflicted.

One day Israel will realise that its "strong defense" just ensure a future of fear and violence for itself.

Violence just leads to more violence.
