Has Brown declared parts of London No-Go zones?

londonpublic | 04.01.2009 11:57 | Repression | Social Struggles | World

Transport for London has cctv camera live feed from buses, tubes and streets. Who is controlling them?

Several passengers from London transport vehicles have been ejected by Transport for London staff.. This has been happening in Cambridge Heath Road, Bethnal green Road, and nearby areas.

Local people experiencing stoppages by plain clothes men - and now women - have been wondering if Gordon Brown has already declared No-Go zones in parts of London .

Parts of London such as Tower Hamlets where Muslims are known to live in comparatively big numbers.

Details?

Any more details on this? Like was everyone on the bus ejected or only some people? How did they seem to be selected?

What did the plain clothes ejectors say about what they were doing?

also strangers appearing in east london streets

04.01.2009 12:54

Asking locals for directions.

What is so strange?

The thing is they often ask the locals for directions to places like the next street!

as has happened in Bethnal Green Road, Pollard Road, Three Colt Lane, Cambridge Heath Road, and Collingwood Street

These happened to one local who was asked top tell the stranger where a street was. When the street was right behind the local and the stranger was looking at the street he claimed he did not know.

Then a stranger asked the local for directions to Bethnal Green railway Station. This happened on There Colt Lane off Cambridge Heath Road.

The fact is that Bethnal Green railway Station is situated on the Three Colt Lane.

The other stranger who was riding a moped on the Cambridge Heath Road towards the Bethnal green Station, turned back and stopped at the bus stop near Darling Row, ands asked the local for directions to the – Bethnal Green Underground station…

That is eerie…

Are these strangers part of the Gordon Brown army of advanced guards before they stop the locals and interrogate them Stazi style?

you are paranoid

04.01.2009 14:21

Was gonna make a piss-take comment but thought better. Your suffering from paranoia if you make the mental leap (no pun) from a local being asked directions to assuming that gordon browns "stasi-army" is going to invade bethnal green!

And people are taken off busses all the time - for not paying their fares!

Anarchist

Anarchist? Move on to the next stage, usurp the language too!

04.01.2009 17:30

Anarchists would never back spying by state.

And the anarchist would not forget to make a comment on the spying state.

So the post is not from an anarchist.

It is from one of the operatives behind the
spying activities referred to. Calling the original poster about aggravated spying by the state in east London ‘paranoid’ gives the identity of the ‘anarchist’ away.

Verint Systems

04.01.2009 19:51

Verint Systems run the cctv in London Underground, and are directed by Comverse Technology who own 57% controlling stock. Two thirds of Verint’s business is security products used by law enforcement and intelligence services to intercept voice, video and email traffic, the other third is call centre monitoring and employee evaluation software. Verint CEO Daniel Bodner is a former senior Israeli army officer who gets $4m annual benefits (including salary). Verint are currently being investigated by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over proposed merger with Witness Systems Inc. for possible phone monitoring technology monopoly. Verint rumoured to be targeted by IBM for takeover.
