I welcome your email.I am one of the councillors whose ward is in Somers Town and the British Library is located in my ward. I have been active in trying to get the Medical Research Centre scheme opposed by all and to that end have worked with the Somers Town Residents Forum and the leadership of the Council to try to get a meeting with the Housing Minister and the Commons Select Committee who have shown concern for the scheme. We ahve had several demonstrations on the site and we are continuing our work. We are seeking a Development Control Consultation Forum being held so that these MRC {etc} people can be quizzed by local residents. We know that the scheme won't get planning permission as it outwith the planning brief for the area but they will go to a public enquiry.
We at London Against Camden Danger Lab / London against BLISS Lab agree. We are also suggesting that people contact MPs. It does not matter that Camden is not in their constituency {if it is not}. This is something that affects everyone. A terror attack at the virus containment faciltiy or an accident would affect all Londoners /people in the UK and could even become an International disaster.
