Belgium: FIRE DESTROYS ANIMAL LAB

Media in Belgium has reported that in the early morning hours of February 2, a building was destroyed by fire at the University of Hasselt's Biomedical Research Institute in the town of Diepenbeek. The letters "ALF" were found painted on a nearby building.

Italy: 100 HARES RUN FREE

reported by activists in Italy:

"January 17 - Rivanazzano (Italy)

More than 100 hares have been liberated from the cages of a farm breeding
them to rebuild populations in hunting areas. The liberators claimed the
action with a communique sent to aboveground activists and explained they
opened the cages and cut down the fences surrounding the farm, in order to
let the animals run free in the fields and woods. Unfortunately the
vicinity of some cages to the farmer's house and the noise produced by the
animals made the action too risky and it was decided to cut it short,
leaving some of the hares still in there. The activists also said they saw
many of the animals run out of their cages and touch the earth for the
first time, disappearing in the night."

Mexico: RESTAURANTS VANDALIZED

received anonymously (translation):

"On February 1, the speciest and filthy carnivores woke to find all the windows and walls of two (one meat and the other seafood) restaurants completely covered by paint, 'Meat = Murder' was the mark of the Animal Liberation Front - Commando Green Black (FLA-CVN) together with other cells. We have been attacking those who get rich at the expense of pain, agony and suffering of their fellow beings.

These actions are carried out by a collective of radical activists in the FLA, in response to so much torture of our brothers and sisters. This fight is by and for the animals, we avenge and liberate them.
We will not abandon the trenches of the underground; we will keep moving forward.
Until all are free!
FLA-CVN Mexico"

USA: MCDONALDS FLOODED

reported anonymously:

"In broad daylight today, the ALF visited a branch of a murderous
fast food joint and flushed multiple sponges down their pipes,
flooding the entire restaurant with piss and shit, making the whole
place smell of death - the death and suffering of millions of cows,
chickens and other animals that go into their 'happy meals.'

New York City is a bad place to peddle animal cruelty.

Be warned animal abusers - your animal abusing bullshit is not
tolerated in NEW YORK CITY!"

Netherlands: 7 HUNTING PLATFORMS DESTROYED

reported by activists in the Netherlands:  http://www.animalrights.nl

"7 hunting platforms destroyed

Last month, several hunting platforms were destroyed in the Veluwe. Four of them in Nunspeet, in the Renteloos Voorschotbos, a 250-acre forest where all kinds of wildlife can be found. The other three hunting platforms were destroyed in Welna. Both the towers and the furniture inside were completely destroyed. Media reported thousands of Euros in damage. The hunter Jaap van Ree said that he has to pay for the damages himself. He said that he has been hunting for the last 40 years and has never seen such aggressive actions before. The locations of hunting towers are easy to find on the website www.jachthutten.nl."

UK: "STOP LEEDS UNI ANIMAL TESTS"

We will stop your torture
ALF

Motivation

05.02.2008 13:22

Many activists have been speaking of the failure of Operation Achilles, the police operation that was supposed to bring an end to liberation activities. Dawn raids by officers armed with guns and batons, dragging above ground protesters out of bed whilst confiscating perfectly legal leaflets and banners.

Plain and simple the police made the wrong call. They didn't factor into the equation that a crack down would provoke a greater underground response, congratulations to the police though. You've succeeded in motivating a whole new generation of activists.
