Chile: mapuche struggle statement

As a result of the murder of Matias Catrileo Quezada, murdered by the Chilean police, we declare the following;
1.The operation was not only carried out by the police,,,members of the Chilean Army also participated, with a use of helicopter, carrying out a siege of the village of Yeupoco, in Vilcun.
2. There was no incendiary attack by the mapuches. On the contrary, there was a political occupation of territory historically mapuche, grabbed by generations of Lushinger, Urban, Carvajales, Figueroas, etc.
3. The Chilean police are acting as the private guards for transnational capitalist companies and big landowners. They are watching for the interests of those who are powerful and help forment racism against the Mapuche Nation.
4. The Chilean State has declared war against the mapuche Nation, and have labeled us "the internal enemy of the nation."
5.The death of Matias Catrileo, police searching communities, forcing the Mapuche leaders to go underground and the genocide of the Mapuche political prisoners are all part of the same issue, with a new political campaign in the Ninth Region led by the director of police, Bernales, who is atttempting to repress and break up the just movement of the Mapuches.
6. The death of Matis shows us again the murderous and immoral character of the
government of natonal accord of Bachelet, who has militarized mapuche lands at a cost of repression and death of our people. We affirm that the hands of Bachelet are stained, responsable for the death of our Weichafe.
7. 70 days ago a hunger strike was begun in the Argol jail calling for the end of the militarization. There has been no serious negotiations on the part of the government. There has been no concern about the slow death of Patricia Troncos, who is hospitalized in the Angol prison, as her health is precarious. That is why we say Bachelet is carryong out slow murder agianst Patricia Trocoso.
