After it wa sreported on tonights ITN news, Camden Town's nightclubs, bars and pubs, galleries and restaurants etc were tonight outraged by news that the go ahead was today given for the world's largest ever, highest level virus containment facility to be built in Camden which could see many businesses close - there are fears that people will avoid Camden Town, Kings Cross, Euston and the Angel area of London.
There are fears around the go ahead given to the facility - which could spell the end of Camden Town. A local resident said that she would go clubbing or for a meal elsewhere....Foot and Mouth disease was a laborotary leak from the governme nt lab, Pirbright. She said I just won't feel d=safe in Camden any more. The area was hit by 7/7 and 21/7 bombings. Not only that there will be an atmosphere of fear and suspicion...the are will not only be at risk from "terrorists" but will be flooded with police and MI5 people monitoring anyone they think "looks a bit dodgy"...Camden's eclectic clientele means that EVERYONE fits that descriptiobn! There are fears also that the Muslim community will come under intense and unfair scritiny and that all anima;l lovers will be branded "terrorists" - everyone will feel spied upon! The scariest thing is that this place won't be safe....it will house TB, Plague, Ebola, Foot and Mouth disease, Spanish Flu, Malaria etc...the potential for disaster through simple human error is terrifying. The people living on the council estate where this thing will be built will be in fear of disease all the time...GP's surgeries will be inundated by people thinking they have Foot and Mouth or Bird Flu, the Plague etc. The threat from transportation of deadly viruses and transportation of deadly viruses in a built up residential amd business area is very, very real. It's crazy!
