HSBCs support of fox hunts was published in the Sunday Times on July 29.
In the run up to the new fox hunting season (and during cubhunting) activists who can't be out in the field have decided to take on HSBC. Many have made complaints to HSBC freephone number - 0800 881 155. This number is accessible from public payphones and will cost HSBC to recieve the calls. Unfortunately only a few calls to this number causes it to become blocked and so costing HSBC more to receive the calls that are queued
Other freephone numbers that may be of interest are :
– Business start ups 0800 731 8904
Business bank accounts – Moving to HSBC 0800 032 1770
Savings & surplus funds 0800 731 8911
Finance & borrowing
- Overdrafts & loans 0800 731 8932
- Commercial Card 0800 731 8918
- New to HSBC 0800 731 8921
- Existing customers and general enquiries 0800 587 0633
Small Business Insurance
- New and existing customers, plus general enquiries 0800 389 2815
International
- Trade Services 0800 783 1300
Some child activists in London have also decided they enjoy reading HSBCs promotional material and have especially taken to the expensive looking booklets promoting HSBC services,
As more activists across the country join in, these phone calls and sudden interest in leaflets will end up costing HSBC far more than they can possibly get in profit from their sick insurance deal.
Remember to keep all calls polite and legal - it's not the individual on the other end of the phone's fault! Also remember that the numbers are freephone and HSBC have to pickup the tab for the call, so don't worry too much about being held in a queue whilst stood in a phone box.
