Sep. 20, 2007 (Business Wire) -- DataCore Software Corporation, the leading provider of hardware independent, storage virtualization software solutions, today announced that it has become a member of the Intel(R) Enabled Server Acceleration Alliance (ESAA) - enabling OEMs and solution builders the opportunity to create their own easy to build, high value, certified storage solution offerings with trusted Intel technology and DataCore(TM) software.

Through the Intel ESAA program, OEMs and solution builders can access recipes and other resources to take them step-by-step through the process of creating powerful offerings to establish or enhance their storage lines with solutions for storage virtualization and management, thin provisioning and business continuity/recovery, among others. These Intel and DataCore-based storage server solutions provide builders with new, lower price points from which they can deliver high-end functionality and performance to the rapidly growing iSCSI SAN and virtualization market segment.

Armed with recipes for DataCore certified, Intel(R) platform-based, enterprise-class, SMB-priced solutions, it is now practical for OEMs and solution builders to create offerings that compete in market segments and with solutions that were previously out of reach. Currently, two Powered by DataCore(TM) recipes are available through ESAA, both of which are implemented on the Intel(R) Server Chassis SR2500:

-- Business Continuity/Recovery (HA) for 2 Disk Servers, with Storage Virtualization and Management and featuring DataCore thin provisioning (DataCore software U.S. list price: under $8000);

-- and Virtual Infrastructure Foundation Disk Server for Storage Virtualization and Management and featuring DataCore thin provisioning (DataCore software U.S. list price: under $1000).

Intel ESAA is a collaborative alliance that streamlines technical certification and validation of reliable, high-quality, server solutions to end user customers. Intel ESAA allows its member OEM and channel partners to quickly deliver pre-configured, trusted solutions to their customers. They are assured that Intel ESAA solutions consist of equipment and software from Intel trusted technology partners, and end user customers are assured the solution is supported.

'Through the ESAA Program, we hope to reach deeply into the Intel community with DataCore storage solutions that are affordable for SMB, but have the features and functionalities the market expects to find only in expensive, high-end hardware arrays and SAN offerings, such as storage virtualization and management, thin provisioning, and auto-failover, high availability for VMware and other virtual machine platforms,' said Scott Margol, vice president of corporate development, DataCore Software. 'We want to empower ESAA partners to compete aggressively for that business.

'Bringing DataCore into the ESAA Program and equipping partners with Intel server building blocks, gives our channel new revenue opportunities and enhances their capabilities to reach deeper into new market segments in storage virtualization, storage management, automated capacity provisioning, data protection as well as business continuity,' said Dave Brown, marketing director of Intel enterprise platforms and services division. 'DataCore storage virtualization is a great complement to the validated Intel(R) Xeon(R) server-based virtualization solutions Intel can offer its partners through our ESAA program.'
