UN Condemns Israel's Escalation of Gaza Crisis

Plot All Along - Warsaw Anyone? | 20.09.2007 02:00 | Anti-racism | World

Since this is a crisis caused by Israeli and American covert operations in collaboration with corrupt elements of Fatah, it stands to reason that this was the plan all along.

Israel plans for total isolation of Gaza Strip

Bethlehem – Ma'an – Israeli sources on Wednesday stated that the security departments in Israel will submit to the cabinet a series of measures intended to create the complete isolation of the Gaza Strip.

The pretext for the isolation is that Gaza is now considered an enemy of Israel.

Among the proposed measures is to cut-off electricity, water and fuel supplies gradually.

Crossings will be closed to prevent the entry of goods and people into the Gaza Strip. People will only be permitted access to Gaza through Egypt.

High-ranking Israeli military officers presented the proposal to Israeli Minister of Defence, Ehud Barak, and military Chief of Staff, Gabi Ashkenazi, in preparation for discussion during the security cabinet's meeting.

Israeli daily newspaper Maariv reported that Ehud Barak will advise the cabinet that a major ground incursion into the Gaza Strip will be pointless unless (Israeli-created) tensions with Syria have been contained.

Israeli sources said that Israeli will supply the Gaza Strip with fifty-megawatts of electricity, one third of the usual supply. This electricity is solely meant to enable the functioning of hospitals and other vital services.

Of course, this is yet another Israeli violation of Interntaional Law.

Israel (once again) came under attack today in the chambers of the international body that usually turns its head to the situation at hand.... finally the not so new Secretary General Ban Ki-moon urged Israel not to consider Gaza an 'enemy entity'...

Even Kapo Abbas, in a move to score some 'Brownie points' supposedly condemned Israel's plans...

Should be interesting to see Israel's reactions to this.... or as always will they just ignore this condemnation? Should also be interesting to see how long it takes for the US to Veto any official condemnation of Israel. I'm sure Foxman will be up late tonight working on a reply....how many ways can he call someone an anti Semite??? We will soon find out, of this I am sure....

In the meantime, read the following AP report via YNet...

UN chief urges Israel to reconsider decision on Gaza

Ban Ki-moon warns that any cutoff of vital services to Strip would violate international law, punish already suffering civilian population

Associated Press

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon urged Israel on Wednesday to reconsider its decision to declare the Gaza Strip an "enemy entity," warning that any cutoff of vital services would violate international law and punish the already suffering civilian population.
In one of his toughest statements aimed at Israel since taking the reins of the UN on Jan. 1, Ban said he was "very concerned" at the Israeli government's declaration earlier Wednesday "and its announced intent to interrupt essential services such as electricity and fuel to the civilian population."

"Such a step would be contrary to Israel's obligations towards the civilian population under international humanitarian and human rights law," he said.

"I call for Israel to reconsider this decision," the secretary general said in a statement read by UN spokeswoman Michele Montas.

The secretary-general stressed that "the United Nations has broad humanitarian responsibilities and is mandated to provide assistance to and meet the humanitarian needs of the civilian population of the Gaza Strip and West Bank."

"There are 1.4 million people in Gaza, including the old, the young and the sick, who are already suffering from the impact of prolonged closure. They should not be punished for the unacceptable actions of militants and extremists," he said.

At the same time, Ban said "the continued indiscriminate rocket fire from Gaza into Israel is unacceptable and I deplore it."

"I understand Israel's security concerns over this matter," he said. "I call for it to stop immediately."

Earlier Wednesday, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday condemned Israel's plan to cut fuel and electricity supplies to the Gaza Strip, calling it ''an oppressive decision.''

''This oppressive decision will only strengthen the chocking embargo imposed on 1.5 million people in the Gaza Strip, increase their suffering and deepen their tragedy,'' Abbas' office said in a statement.

This is an interesting development, seeing as how the American-Israeli Extremists in DC just pulled a similar stunt in regards to Iran, in order to escalate that crisis of their making. Acts of Incitement like this makes it eaiser to understand how Israel was able to goad Arab states into the wars from which it was able to annex further Palestinian territory - also illegal under Int'l Law.

Hamas says Gaza sanctions "declaration of war"
Wed Sep 19, 2007 7:26am EDT

GAZA (Reuters) - Hamas said on Wednesday that Israel had effectively declared war by labeling the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip an "enemy entity".

"It is a declaration of war and continues the criminal, terrorist Zionist actions against our people," said Fawzi Barhoum, a spokesman for Hamas in the coastal enclave.

Israel's security cabinet declaration on Wednesday that Gaza was an "enemy entity" opened the way for cuts in fuel and other supplies to the territory, an Israeli political source said.

"They aim to starve our people and force them to accept humiliating formulas that could emerge from the so-called November peace conference," Barhoum said, referring to a U.S.-sponsored meeting expected to be held in two months.

Militants in Gaza regularly fire rockets into Israel and Israeli forces have raided the enclave, from which the Jewish state evacuated troops and settlers two years ago.

Hamas forces, which seized control of Gaza in June after fighting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's secular Fatah faction, have been bracing for a broader Israeli offensive, particularly since a rocket struck an Israeli army base last week, wounding some three dozen soldiers.

"If Israel resorts to military action against Gaza we will be ready to confront them. We will not surrender and we will fight together with all our people," Barhoum said.

IT'S OFFICIAL...... GAZA IS AN 'ENEMY ENTITY'

After 40 years of the most brutal occupation in the modern history of the world, after every attempt of genocide against the local population, the government of Israel voted today to declare the Gaza Strip an "enemy entity," approving among other things the disruption of power and fuel supplies to the Strip.
They also decided not to disrupt the water supply to the besieged nation.... how humanitarian of them..... like the water will reach it's destination without the pumps that have been turned off???

All I can say is It's terrible if it' s done to Jews (the world would be outraged!), but acceptable if the Jews do it? (the world remains complicitly silent.)
