The racist Labour government is going ahead with its 'charter flight' to DRCongo depsite evidence that people deported from Britain on a similar flight in February 2007, were raped and tortured. In addition, 1,200 people are dying every day in DRC and 163,000 have fled their homes in eatsern DCC since January 2007. It has also been recently revealed that people deported from Britain to Sri Lanka have also been tortured and killed.
According to NCADC, 'the National Enforcement Casework, who take casework decisions regarding removals, have indicated that they are going to fill the 'Charter flight', which is still scheduled for Thursday 30th August, with DR Congolese who have not claimed asylum. It seems that the Border & Immigration Agency has sufficient people in detention centres and prisons to proceed as planned but with the exclusion of refused asylum seekers from the DR Congo. The Home Office also intend to put on the 'Charter flight' Congolese from Republic of Congo (the freeze does not apply to them), after stopping in Kinshasa the flight will proceed to Brazzaville.'
This outcome shows the dangers of campaigning only for asylum seekers, or only for people from one country, or only for 'genuine' as opposed to 'illegal' or 'bogus' or 'economic' migrants; or campaigning for 'amnesties' for people who arrived after year X. We should campaign against all deportations, all immigrations controls, and in defence of all immigrants and all victims of racism, whatever label is put on them by the racist British establishment and media. - NWASDG
