Injustices and Convention Right Violations in the UK

Ahmed Balogun | 20.06.2007 18:53 | Analysis | Education | Social Struggles | London | World

Judicial Corruption resulting in Unlawful Imprisonment of a citizen should be a concern to everyone. The reluctancies of both the Home Office and the Ministry of Justice to investigate and give due redress to the matter is an utter afront to Justice and a violation of the UK's obligation to respect Human Rights and the Rule of Law.

19th June 2007

The Prime Minister
10 Downing Street
London SW1A 2AA

Mr. Prime Minister

RE: Unresolved Complaints Of Judicial Corruption & Unlawful Imprisonments In The UK, Violating Both National And International Obligations To Respect Human Rights And The Rule of Law Under Articles 1, 6, 6(3)(c), 7(1)(b), 13 & 50 ECHR and HRA 1998.

Over the course of your administration in government office, this campaign has brought to your attention indisputable facts of ongoing Judicial Corruption and Improprieties responsible for the False and Unlawful Imprisonment of Mr. Caul Silford Grant, (and other Campaign for Truth & Justice members) whilst at the same time being deliberately refused and Denied any right of Appeal by the same Judiciary to challenge the Safety and Lawfulness of the conviction, in clear breach of the Rule of Law and Articles1 and 6 of both ECHR and HRA 1998.

Since contacting you with these facts, your recorded responses, (20/05/04, 18/03/05 and 14/04/05) generally have been that the matter is the responsibility of the Home office and the complaints have been forwarded onto that Department.
However with the Home Office in disarray since the period of Jack Straw and David Blunket, right down to Charles Clark and the present Home Secretary John Reid, it is no wonder, this matter (despite being directed there by you) was never taken serious for investigation and due redress.

In communication however, (31/05/2007) the revamped Home Office wrote stating the matter is a responsibility of the Ministry of Justice and the complaint have been transferred there. Soon after, (07/06/2007) the Ministry of Justice replied that the issue raised is outside the remit of the department and consequently have forwarded the complaint back to the Home Office.

Whilst the Ministerial Departments and Secretaries have been able to transfer responsibilities as of when they want in a mocking jest, it is an affront to Justice. With the Home Office saying the matter is the responsibility of the Ministry of Justice. The Ministry of Justice saying that the matter is the responsibility of the Home Office, we are left to see just how unreliable the current apparatus are for effective discharge of their roles under the current government Maladministration.

So follow-up to previous letters written you on this matter, (05/05/04, 26/10/04, 25/03/05, 05/05/05, 25/04/06, 15/10/06 and Mr. Caul Grant’s communications dated, 02/05/06, 23/05/06, 24/05/06, 31/05/06 and 10th October 2006) I add this in hope that sense may prevail over continuous arrogance and unabated flouting of the Rule of Law by your administration, even at this 11th hour to your imminent exit from office.

Yours Accordingly
