Yesterday, Sat 2nd june, most of the news dealt with reports from the main Anti-G8 demonstration in Rostock, and the clashes that occurred after the march at the rally / concert in the harbour. Here´s a quick run down of some of the other reports:
Saturday morning saw the occupation of the Bombodrom bombing range ending successfully and without any repression by military police (see pics at

Most people then headed towards Rostock.
The Nazi demonstration and the antifascist counter-demonstrations planned for Saturday in in Schwerin were banned again. People turning up for the counter-demonstration were turned away by police at the starting point and handed legal warnings that they would be arrested if they returned.
Later the police surrounded over 100 people, and after bringing in a water cannon and removing journalists from the crowd they began arresting everyone and putting them onto police buses.
It seems most of the nazis had headed for Berlin, although there was a rumour that many were heading towards Rostock.

During and immediately after the clashes at the Harbour in Rostock, police stepped up patrols and ID checks and searches in the town centre making some arrests.
Later in the evening around 200 people from the Rostock campsite wanted to march to the police station to in a solidarity demonstration for those arrested during the day, however they were confronted with police and water cannons a few hundred meters outside the camp.
The authorities had earlier said 126 people had been arrested during the day, but by Sunday morning the Legal Team was saying that 164 people had been arrested in total (17 of whom will be charged - two of cases are said to be fast-tracked).
During the night the police also attacked a peaceful Reclaim The Streets party that was being held in Rostock. The sound system was in fact inside a building, with the crowd of people outside in the streets. Reports said that around 5 units of riot police arrived and waded into the 500 strong crowd indiscriminately, as well as storming into the building that held the sound system. After detaining some and chasing others down the street people were allowed to disperse.
As well as hitting people who were in the crowd the police also attacked photographers, one of which also had her camera smashed. It should be noted this was not an isolated case as complaints from other journalists have accused the police of attacking them also.
