many people were at anti-EU demo in Hamburg today in the build up to anti-G8 protests, the convergence centre Rote Flora is now surrounded by riot cops - @7pm!
today there was a multi-coloured anti-EU demo in Hamburg against a 2-day EU conference being held here in the lead up to the G8 summit. we managed to get our way along the route by going in directions the police didn't want us to, but the demo ended early and people dispersed. the G8 convergence centre in Hamburg, Rote Flora, is not surrounded by riot cops. people are not being let in at all or out in 'large' groups, which means more than 2 people at a time and leaving would be risky anyway. this situation is stressfull due to the raids that happened here a few weeks ago in the context of repression against resistance to the G8. however, we will win! plus, there's good food here right now! come to Germany and join in the fight against the G8! the atmosphere is great!
