The ‘elephant in the kitchen’ that everyone is at pains to avoid is the coerced confession, legal liability for criminal abuse, illegal deprivation of liberty, human rights abuses, criminal compensation, and the indictment of the administrations and their political lackeys for war crimes and other crimes against humanity – the truth is already in the public domain and history will no doubt record further injustices suffered by Hicks.
Numerous efforts to neutralise the heroic aspects of the Hicks case prior to Hicks' transfer to (servile) Australian regulators indicate the acute sensitivity and guilt of the Australian and U.S. authorities in relation to David Hicks.
Press releases stating that Hicks was a harmless adventurer with a less than average IQ; that Hicks confessed to everything for the price of a hamburger, to the absurd claim made by an extraordinarily ‘intelligent’ American military prosecutor, that Hicks is a ‘lucky’ man, “lucky”! Now there’s an interesting term in the circumstances, only the American military could have made such a moronic remark!
We do not regret to inform the Howard and Bush (criminal) governments that the Hicks case is far from over, advice from various local and international legal advocates would indicate that it has barely begun. The Australian people will no doubt take the entire experience of Howard’s neglect and cynical exploitation of David Hicks to the ballot box in the forthcoming elections – and perhaps to the international criminal court. The world is in no confusion regarding the identity of the REAL criminals in this matter!
As for David Hicks welcome home, mate!

Australia: Why does the ABC Lie?
20.05.2007 20:50
A world of lies?
Why do the lies start at home? What is wrong with the Mass Media in this country? We don't teach our children to lie? This is abohorant and I am disgusted that all my good effort raising my children to tell the truth about matters has been drowned in a sea of contempt for the truth by the ABC.
Yes others have done it too but that you can expect but not so from a public broadcaster out of taxpayers own money. This is a sham!

Dear Australian Mess Media I re-wrote this song for you!
Our children are very dear to us and you have lied to them all, for what?
===========================
Dedicated to ABC Australian Broadcasting Commission in the hope that these people don't keep telling lies to the Australian people using our taxes to undermine the fabric of our society.
Village People - Can't Stop The Truth
Everyone you meet, the children in the street
are swayin' to the rhythm, there's somethin' movin' in them.
There's no place to hide, so, why even try?
Can't you hear it coming your way, it's here to stay.
Truth in our walk, truth when we talk.
It's really something magic, to lose it would be tragic.
Can't you feel the sound movin' through the ground?
Truth makes the world go around.
You can't stop the truth, nobody can stop the truth.
Take the cold from snow, tell the trees, don't grow,
tell the wind, don't blow, 'cause it's easier.
No, you can't stop the truth, nobody can stop the truth.
Take the spark from love, make the rain fall up
'cause that's easier to do.
Movin' with the wind since the world began,
the beat is gonna getcha, beat is gonna getcha.
Truth for the blues, for your dancin' shoes,
there's truth in the way that we kiss, you can't resist.
Movin' through the trees, buzzin' with the bees,
the sound is gettin' louder, sound is gettin' louder.
Truth when we play, when we kneel to pray.
There's truth in the sound of the wind.
You can't stop the truth, nobody can stop the truth.
Take the heat from flame, try not feeling pain,
though you try in vain it's much easier.
No, you can't stop the truth, nobody can stop the truth.
Change the master plan, take the hope from man
'cause that's easier to do.
On the radio, on every TV show
for each and every reason, each and every season.
Truth when we love for the moon above,
Truth for the show of life that never ends.
Truth on a plane, truth on a train,
sailing in the ocean, truth in the motion.
Truth in your car, at your local bar.
There's truth when you look at a star.
You can't stop the truth, nobody can stop the truth.
Take the heat from flame, try not feeling pain,
though you try in vain it's much easier.
No, you can't stop the truth, nobody can stop the truth.
Change the master plan, take the hope from man
'cause that's easier to do.
You can't stop the truth, nobody can stop the truth.
Take the heat from flame, try not feeling pain,
though you try in vain it's much easier.
No, you can't stop the truth, nobody can stop the truth.
Change the master plan, take the hope from man
'cause that's easier to do.
Village People and I
Sydney Forum with Terry Hicks
21.05.2007 00:02
Speakers included: Omar Merhi, Dr Tim Anderson, and Terry Hicks, and was chaired by Anna Samson. Among others, speakers highlighted the issue of public support and campaign for justice for David, Mamdouh Habib, Barwon 13, Sydney 9, and the people of Iraq & Afghanistan; and also the continued murder of Iraqis and Afghans, the 'war on terror', the undermining of civil liberties, and the passing of the insidious anti-terrorism legislation with the support of the Labor party.
Thank you to all those who attended, and all those who have supported the campaign for the repatriation of David.
Terry Hicks received a standing ovation, in recognition for his work/campaign for justice for his son.
David was brought to Australia this morning not home but to a maximum security gaol - Yatala in South Australia. David is a political prisoner and is yet to receive justice.
This morning as David was arriving Terry was being interviewed by Channel 31. I took a few pics I will put them in the e-group site. Unfotunately the pics I took at the forum did not turn out. Could those who took pics at the forum post them in the StWC website?
In solidarity, Marlene Obeid.
=======================
Hi all,
The AMWU caretaker told me that the hall capacity was 294 people, and I reckon that was nearly filled.
It was a fantastic meeting - with great speakers. The timing, I think, made it work well too.
Omar's speech from the heart, as well as Terry's, made it extremely clear that this "war on terror" is nothing more than a scapegoating exercise by the Howard government, something that, unfortunately, is being given political cover by the ALP keen to toughen up its "security" credentials.
Cheers,
Pip Hinman

other nobodies from nowhere.
Nothing has ever happened in Australia to justify any praise for the person who
now is an outback city in an an outback state in a country of parasites on
the land and aboriginal inhabitants of that land.
The only reason these macadamia heads froth at the mouth over the treatment of
the Australian prisoner of GITMO is that he is the hero of those who wouldn't have the
courage come face to face with a post card of an el qada warrior.
It's only in Australia where men vote and admire bully-heroes like P.Costyellow and
S.Bricks. Rape the land get the dough kick up a fuss about a kangaroo-killer,
feed the dog, fk the slt, go to the footy, have a beer and wash it down with
glass of mud outta cardinia.
