xyz | 23.11.2006 23:27 | Anti-militarism | Other Press | Repression | London | World

Alexander Litvinenko died this evening at University College Hospital, in Central London. A vocal critic of Russia's corrupt and murderous President, Vladimir Putin, Litvinenko is believed to have been poisoned by Russian agents on Putin's orders. The British government must not sweep this quietly under the carpet. Justice for Litvinenko!

Stand up for democracy in Russia, and the rights of dissidents to live in the UK free from fear and intimidation. Protest Litvinenko's murder at the Russian Embassy in London, 1pm, Saturday November 23rd 2006.

Sweep it quietly under the carpet?

24.11.2006 12:04

It's been headline news for days. How could it be any more high profile?

Unlike most of the assassination attempts that take place regularly worldwide, presumably...

You have to wonder if the people responsible for placing this news item have an anti-Russia agenda... like the way north Korean public execution footage miraculously appears ("We cannot confirm these reports so have to rely on this conveniently out of focus film" says the newsreader) - but very little damning footage from countries who are good friends with the US, eg Saudi Arabia?

If we are hearing a lot about this case, it's because it suits somebody's purposes to let us hear it.

Demand an autopsy for Litvinanko now!

24.11.2006 15:36

So far we're just getting professors and pundits to speculate about what killed Litvinenko. Was it radioactive thallium? Was it...? and so on.Have they heard about autopsies? This is the perfect moment to put one into effect.

What do we want? An autopsy.

When do we want it? Now!
