RUSSIAN JOURNALIST DEATH - CRIMINAL COVER-UP

passionate sentience | 09.10.2006 17:33 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | World

. . . . DESPITE several distractions, the "omissions" in the "mainstream" coverage of this event, in fact, from the background summations of the bio of this journalist THEMSELVES allow thoughtful people clues as to what were the actual causes of this murder - but also that poisoning as she went to the BESLAN school siege - in the run up to the USA election as the "security moms" factor was amped up.

. . . . a journalist of integrity, that didnt drop things when the circus did, she is also famous - in a good way - for protesting about the way russian soldiers were left to suffer at the front, in chechenya, even the way the bodies of the soldiers were left to rot - thus she found support from all quarters in that war, but was smeared as a "pro-chechenya" mouthpiece. As here, that was the easiest lazy way of getting others to harass or (character) assassi nate somebody that brought attention to crime - or even that try to warn of tragedies that neednt happen - but cut across the perceived short-term interests of some racket or other.
She tried to negotiate a safe way out for everybody at the Moscow theatre siege, gaining respect - despite the disaster of the precipitate fsb attack, then kept in touch with the casualties relations for years after, trying to assist when she could.
For this, the trip to Beslan was a response to a desperate request of parents, amongst others - but it also meant that if a rat was to get discovered, she might have discovered it. The news, all over the world, was full of this event - for days. In its own way, it was a "this changes everything" event, as 9/11, - it re-set priorities, altered debates . . . . but it didnt seem to make much sense in the russia/chechenya dispute at that time. But, the dynamite etc was put down in advance, the actual explosions seemed so simultaneous that remote detonation was possible . . . .
. . . .the people that get "into power" after elections are very often different from the people or corporations or rackets that make most from the deregulations or projects that follow. "The State" isnt the sole wielder of "covert action". We seem to accept this when it comes to blaming "fanatics" - but have in the past had reticence to ascribe "cash" as something people get fanatical about.
Things to think about - some
