Al Jazeera: The Fox News Of The Middle East ?

Tony Ryals | 10.09.2006 03:46 | Analysis | Globalisation | London | World

It is probably no coincidence that a useless video of old Osama bin Laden reruns mysteriously appeared on Al Jazeera at about the same time George W Bush decided to break the Guiness Book of Records on 'terrorism speeches' -even though he already held the record ! And it was also probably no coincidence that his terrorism speech fest was timed to kick off the U.S. midterm elections. In fact it is both humorously and sadly all too obvious.

Al Jazeera: Propaganda Media for International Far Right - W Bush Regime ?

Out of respect for some Al Jazeera reporters who have risked and lost heir lives or freedoms reporting on the U.S. occupation of Iraq I give my thanks for their contributions to frontline journalism. However aside from that homage to those individuals my basic perception of Al Jazeera as yet another right wing mega meda corporation controlled by the opinions and interests of international right wing rulling elite as well as the Emir of Qatar with his ties to the Bush Regime remains.

This link will provide another perspective on Al Jazeera to balance out what I am about to say.:

Al Jazeera's (Global) Mission

www.fastcompany.com/magazine/104/open_aljazeera.html

Al Jazeera: Propaganda Media for International Far Right - W Bush() Regime ?

To have this collage of old Osama reruns released by the 'usual suspect',Al Jazeera,(which may indeed be run by 'Islamic-Fascists' because most of the Bush Regime's Middle Eastern allies are Islamic-Fascists),is no surprise. When George W Bush overthrew one of the only secular governments in the
Persian Gulf region when he toppled his father's old business partner,Saddam Hussein,he replaced it with the very 'Islamic Fascism' he now decries, or pretends to..

Al Jazeera satelite television broadcasts out of the small Persian Gulf island of Qatar and also owns aljazeera.net in cyber space. While it is even more out of the reach and jurisdiction of the Bush Regime controlled FCC in the U.S.,Al Jazeera is in many ways more under the control of the Bush Regime and the U.S. Republican Party than Rupert Murdoch's Fox News itself !

This only adds to the cynical humor of Fox News' commentators who are shills for W Bush's et.al.'s fraudulent and criminal Iraqi occupation,(such as Oliie North and a Colonel Hunt who are themselves
'carpetbaggers' in Iraq() and no doubt making an excellent profit on this criminal war while pretending concern for soldiers senselessly dying while their families suffer without a father or mother and hiding behind their phony patriotism),call for 'blowing it up',which has been and is their final solution to all problems and obstacles they see or perceive in their lives.Surely they must know that Al Jazeera is no more subversive nor more blood thirsty than the war criminals who run Fox News !

New York Congressman and Homeland Security rep for the House of Representives continues to use Murdoch's Fox News to make false claims about Saddam's ties to Al Qaeda long after this has been proven to be a lie.He also uses Fox News to make threats against the New York Times for disclosing the Bush Regime's spying on international financial transactions through SWIFT of Belgium,etc..The truth is that Congressman King has more connections to real 'Islamic Fascists' through his ties to the Irish Republican Army than Saddam Hussein who distrusted religious extremists such as the Bushes' Saudi allies ever did !

And the CIA is involved in U.S. penny stocks and probably securities fraud that extends as far as the Middle East and yet they with their Mantas Inc and SRA International data mining and money laundering technology are put to guard or data mine international financial transactions !?

King, who illegally supported the IRA, wants The New York Times prosecuted for doing its job

By Wayne Madsen , WayneMadsenReport.com

onlinejournal.com/artman/publish/article_947.shtml

King's financial and political support for the IRA coincided with the terrorist group's alliances with Palestinian, Lebanese, Latin American, Basque, Corsican, German, and Breton terrorist groups and the Libyan government of Muammar el Qaddafi. NSA signals intelligence (SIGINT) intercepts demonstrate that Libya and Lebanese terrorist groups targeted Americans in terrorist attacks during the 1980s, while King supported their Irish compatriots with money and weapons.

If Mr. King wants the New York Times prosecuted for espionage, he should be prepared to be prosecuted for aiding and abetting acts of terrorism against American citizens and the citizens of America's allies.

Al Jazeera, like CNN and Fox News,is just another bad joke on 'free speech' and part of the same W Bush Regime disinformation machine .Just let Al Jazeera reporters try and criticize the W Bush Regime except abstractly and superficially or do serious investigative journalistic investigation into the corrupt leaders of the Bush Regime's allies in the Persian Gulf, including the the Emir of Qatar,Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, who owns Al Jazeera and rules Qatar, and see how long those reporters really last !

Under the rule of Saddam Hussein women could walk th streets of Baghdad without a 'chador' covering their heads and anyone, including U.N. weapons inspectors, could cruise the streets of Baghdad or the
back roads of Iraq with little or no concern for their safety. But not under the present regime of George W Bush and his 'Islamic Fascists' ! Even Iraqi Christians now fear for their lives although under Saddam they even had representation in the government. Not any more.Iraq's former U.N. representative, the Christian Tariq Aziz, now languishes in an Iraqi prison, a victim of both George W Bush and the 'Islamic-Fascists' that George W Bush and his fascist American military regime placed in power. Bush has ignored the reality that the 9/11 and WTC terrorists came first out of the CIA's funding and support of right wing Islamic war lords and Arabs in Afghanistan in the 1980's and that 9/11 terrorists were funded by his own ' Islamic Fascist' Saudi allies and NOT by Saddam Hussein !
And furthermore, the presumed leader,Mohamed Atta, trained for his role in 9/11 and the WTC tragedy - NOT in Afghanistan - but at Jeb Bush's friend or business associate's,( Wally Hilliard),Huffman Aviation of Venice,Florida !

Was Pentagon Tracking Mohamed Atta
Just Days Before 9.11 Attack?

www.madcowprod.com/09192005.html

by Daniel Hopsicker

“Two years before the 9.11 attack a Pentagon employee was ordered to destroy a cache of documents that identified Mohamed Atta as a terrorist totaling 2.5 terabytes—equal to one-fourth of all printed material in the Library of Congress, or 150,000 trees made into paper and printed.”

Fascism implies 'right wing' as in the case of Italy's Benito Musolini or the German Nazi Party - not a left wing or socialist state.W Bush lied abourt bringing
'democracy' to Iraq just as he lied about 'WMDS'.He is after all the one who befriends Islamic extremists and
is doing just that.

Fascism was a term created to describe an industrial
nation and its hierarchy of capitalists and industrialists and their priviledges over the poor or working classes. In many ways Stalin's industrial Russia, although called 'communist', could be considered a form of fascist state, sans religion. This 'ideal' of an industriial state is something many right wing or fundamentalist Muslims would oppose. They see the encroaching industrial states of Europe and America as a threat because their greed and demand for raw materials, particularly Middle Eastern oil,is a threat to their region's autonomy. Thus Al Qaeda's aversion to capitalists who dominate the Middle East oil industry to provide oil for international industrialism and consumerism.

Moslem fundamentalists such as Osama bin Laden are right wing and elitist in terms of who they want to run or control their society,(i.e.-Moslem clerics and fundamentalists). However their fellow right right wing
non-moslem fascists are the focus of confrontation for
the very reason that they(the American petroleum traffickers,et.al.),control or attempt to control the regions royalty and ruling class and even means of communication, including Al Jazeera, that the Bush Regime pretends is in the hands of Islamic Fascists as part of their disinformation campaign.

Osama bin Laden who supposedly represents
'Islamic Fascists' or fundamentalists as leader of Al Qaeda may or may not be a true Islamic fundamentalist. Osama is right wing and elitist like the religious extremists of Al Qaeda just as most of his siblings probably are.But the bin Laden family interests lie with the American and international industrialists not with Al Qaeda whose interests and causes are more regioal whereas the bin Ladens interests are with international capitalists and industrialists, including arms manufacturers. The bin Laden familiy's interests and investments,(i.e. - Carlyle, etc.) are more in line with the Bush Regime's so the Bushes have more in common with the bin Laden's than they with you or me as 'common' Americans.

While Osama bin Laden is one example of a feud or 'blacksheep' in a Saudi Moslem family, they are a very wealthy family and even this supposed rift or family feud may be a lie. After all Osama was working with the CIA in Afghanistan fighting those godless Soviet communists in the 1980's,which is also how that blind Egyptian cleric Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman got his visa in Sudan from a U.S. consulate with the CIA's and George H W Bush administration's aid !

Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman inspired his followers, also in the U.S. on George H W Bush administration approved visas,to bomb the WTC in 1993 at the beginning of Bill Clinton's first term. Those who first bombed the WTC in New York in 1993,while the FBI,et.al.,turned a blind eye, entered the USA on George H W 'Poppy' Bush's watch !

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani,Emir of Qatar and owner of Al Jazeera, might be seen as trapped between Iraq and Iran and poisonous American Bushes. The Bush Dynasty armed Iraq and Iran to the teeth,(including with poisonous gas that should have won 'Pappa' George Herbert Walker Bush a place in the international war crimes court and a conviction for his war crimes),in the 1980's when Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani's father,Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad al-Thani, ran Qatar.Instead Sadam Hussein is in a rigged Iraqi court defending against charges(gassing Kurds)that George H W Bush,et.al., should stand trial for.

After the Iran-Iraq War followed by the Gulf War it was more obvious than ever that Qatar,Saudi Arabia, Dubai,Kuwait the UAE and all the Persian Gulf region needed 'protection' from the two military powers created by George W Bush's father,et.al.,for their personal profits and to the detriment of the Persian Gulf Region. American,Middle Eastern and International arms, drugs and petroleum traffickers, who the Bushes really represent, are the legacy of the Bushes, father and sons,to the Persian Gulf and to the world.

If George W Busholini wishes to help Bill Clinton with little embarrassments such as an ABC documentary that doesn't portray him in a good light, perhaps even unfairly, little W and Bill Clinton can raise a stink and get the media to bendover. And if W Bush wishes to lie to Americans and send thoudands to their deaths in Iraq,Afghanistan,or where ever, all our 'media' particularly Rupert Murdoch's Republican controled Fox News, were and are happy to oblige.

Even the New York Times did and still does pander to White House propaganda even at this late date.So in many ways Al Jazeera plays a good diversionary
'whipping boy' for Fox News' far right and fascist commentators and the Bush Regime.Yet all the while this is just part of the ongoing Bush Regime disinformation campaign.

My interest in Al Jazeera and aljazeera.com an English news website out of Dubai, began a short while back when I discovered aljazeera.com had most likely plagiarised a small portion of an indymedia article I wrote titled,' Israeli President Katsav:Is Senator Lieberman a Semite,An Albino or Neither ?'
I believe aljazeera.com picked up more on the spirit of my outrage towards Katsav for aiding a penny stock scam than its substance. You can read about that in my indymedia article,'Israeli President Moshe Katsav:Did aljazeera.com plagiarise me ?' whose link is immediately below.:

arkansas.indymedia.org/newswire/display/20012/index.php

The following from Wikipedia will give a brief discussion about aljazeera.com of Dubai and like aljazeera.org it has its critics and as you can see below that the League of Palestinian Artists has their own 'bone to pick' with aljazeera.net while they in turn
have taken aljazeera.com to court over supposedly plagiaring the 'al jazeera' name !

For the satellite television channel, see Al Jazeera.
Aljazeera.com is an English language website that publishes news and opinion pieces of an inflammatory nature in the Middle East. The site is operated by Aljazeera Publishing, described as an "independent media organisation" that presents "facts as they happen". It should not be confused with the well-known Arabic satellite TV channel Al Jazeera (in Arabia there are thousands of organizations named Aljazeera, a public word which has been used for centuries).

Al-Jazeera in legal dispute over website name

Aljazeera.net is the official site of the Qatar-based television company. But there is also aljazeera.com, an English-language website operated by the Aljazeera Publishing of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, and London. In March the Qatar channel filed a complaint at the World Intellectual Property Arbitration and Mediation Centre in Geneva requesting that the Dubai/London-based site stop using the same domain name, and charging the other company with breach of copyright and ‘bad faith’. But the panel ruling questioned Al-Jazeera’s claim that it had only ‘recently’ become aware of the existence of aljazeera.com, and said that in continuing to use aljazeera.com as its e-mailing address for its correspondents had not acted in good faith. Al-Jazeera confirmed in Doha that the network had lost the case, and was now considering its next step, probably an appeal. News sources in Doha said that Al-Jazeera is challenging the rival website now because it plans to launch its own exclusively English-language news and commentary channel, Al-Jazeera International, next year and would like to have a clear field for its new news venture.

Al Jazeera propaganda media for international far right - W Bush Regime ?

Al Jazeera History from Wikipedia :

Al Jazeera claims to be the only politically independent television station in the Middle East. It now rivals the BBC in worldwide audiences with an estimated 50 million viewers. Al Jazeera was started with a US$150 million grant from the emir of Qatar. It aimed to become self-sufficient through advertising by 2001, but when this failed to occur, the emir agreed to continue subsidizing it on a year-by-year basis (US$30 million in 2004,[1] according to Arnaud de Borchgrave). Other major sources of income include advertising, cable subscription fees, broadcasting deals with other companies, and sale of footage (according to Pravda,[2] "Al Jazeera received $20,000 per minute for Bin Laden's speech".) In 2000, advertising accounted for 40% of the station's revenue.[3]

The channel began broadcasting in late 1996. In April of that year, BBC World Service's Arabic language TV station, faced with censorship demands by the Saudi Arabian government, had shut down after two years of operation. Many former BBC World Service staff members joined Al Jazeera.

In the beginning, Al Jazeera tried to increase its viewership by means of presenting controversial views regarding the governments of many Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar; Syria's relationship with Lebanon; and the Egyptian judiciary. Its well-presented documentary on the Lebanese Civil War in 2000-2001 gave its viewer ratings a boost. However, it wasn't until late 2001 that Al Jazeera achieved worldwide popularity when it broadcast video statements by al-Qaeda leaders.

In response to Al Jazeera, a group of Saudi investors created Al Arabiya in the first quarter of 2003.

[edit]
Al Jazeera outside the Middle East
On July 4, 2005 Al Jazeera officially announced plans to launch a new English-language satellite service called Al Jazeera International.[4] Highly protested by many Americans, organized campaigns surfaced against Al Jazeera's efforts to establish the planned English language network in the United States, protests lead by groups such as the United American Committee. The controversy over Al Jazeera's establishment in North America has been dubbed "Jazeeragate" by protesting groups,[5] Al Jazeera has announced this long-expected move in an attempt to provide news about the Arab world, especially Israel, from the Middle Eastern perspective. The new channel will have broadcast centers in Doha (current Al Jazeera headquarters and broadcast center), Athens, London, Kuala Lumpur and Washington D.C., when the station launches. The channel will be a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week news channel with 12 hours broadcasted from Doha and four hours from each of London, Kuala Lumpur, and Washington D.C.

In September 2005, Josh Rushing joined Al Jazeera International. He was the press officer for the United States Central Command during the 2003 Invasion of Iraq, and in that role was featured in the documentary "Control Room." Rushing will be working from the Washington, DC Bureau. He commented that "In a time when American media has become so nationalized, I'm excited about joining an organization that truly wants to be a source of global information..."[6] Former CNN and BBC news anchorwoman and award winning journalist Veronica Pedrosa and veteran UK broadcaster David Frost have also joined the team, along with Riz Khan, a former CNN news anchor

Qatar History

www.nationsencyclopedia.com/Asia-and-Oceania/Qatar-HISTORY.html

In 1981, Qatar, along with the other Persian Gulf states of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Sa'udi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, established the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The GCC attempted to mediate the war between Iran and Iraq, which had erupted in September 1980, but at the same time gave support to Iraq. Qatar's boundary disputes with Bahrain disrupted relations between the two countries in the mid-1980s. In 1991, they agreed to refer their dispute over the Hawar Islands to the International Court of Justice at The Hague. In 1992, there was a minor clash between Qatari and Sa'udi troops over a disputed border. That quarrel was resolved with a boundary agreement signed in Cairo in December 1992.

Qatari forces, although small in size, are active in the collective defense of the GCC and played a helpful role on the allied side in the Gulf War against Iraq.

In 1995, Sheikh Hamad seized power from his father amid a turbulent and secretive attempted coup in February of that year by unknown forces. Sheikh Khalifa, the aging ruler, had spent much of his time before being ousted sailing the Mediterranean on the royal yacht. Also a problem was the aging emir's eccentric method of funding the government, which was to siphon off half of the revenue generated from the country's oil into his personal bank accounts, and pay for government services from those funds. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the emir felt less inclined to withdraw money than to deposit, and the resulting revenue drain was crippling the economy. When Sheikh Hamad took control of the government, while his father was away on business, the now former emir froze his personal bank accounts, which held, essentially, Qatar's treasury. Estimates of Sheikh Khalifa's personal accounts range from $4–$30 billion.................................

During 2002 and into 2003, Qatar, along with the other countries of the Persian Gulf, were confronted with the situation of a potential US-led war with Iraq. On 8 November 2002, the UN Security Council unanimously passed Resolution 1441, calling on Iraq to immediately disarm itself of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and WMD weapons capabilities, to allow the immediate return of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and UN weapons inspectors, and to comply with all previous UN resolutions regarding the country since the end of the Gulf War in 1991. If Iraq was found to be in "material breach" of the resolution, "serious consequences" were to result. The United States and the United Kingdom began amassing troops in the region, and by the end of February 2003, the number of troops in the Persian Gulf was approximately 200,000. As of 1 February, there were approximately 3,500 US military personnel in Qatar. In December 2002, a computer-assisted exercise entitled "Internal Look" was carried out in Qatar, involving approximately 1,000 military planners and a mobile command center, which would eventually be staffed by 1,600 US and UK troops. As of March 2003, an aerial command-and-control center was being constructed at Al Udeid, in the event that US forces could not use their control center in Sa'udi Arabia. The Al Udeid air base has the longest runway in the Gulf region (approximately 5,000 m/15,000 ft), and can accommodate nearly 100 aircraft. Operating at Al Udeid in early 2003 was air-to-air refueling of tanker aircraft in support of US-led forces in Afghanistan and to patrol Iraq's southern no-fly zone in the aftermath of the 1991 Persian Gulf War. In December 2002, the United States and Qatar signed a bilateral defense agreement that US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld stated was not connected to Iraq.

However, Qatar has said it would not act in a conflict with Iraq without UN approval. At an Arab League summit held at Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt, on 1 March, sharp divisions between Arab leaders on the Iraq situation emerged, particularly between Libya and Sa'udi Arabia. However, the leaders issued a declaration expressing "complete rejection of any aggression on Iraq," and called for continuing UN weapons inspections. It also called upon Iraq to disarm itself of WMD and the missiles needed to deliver them. At the summit, some leaders argued war was inevitable and that the countries of the region should prepare for its aftermath; some argued that war could be avoided if Iraq were to comply with weapons inspections; and a third group argued that the summit should issue an unequivocal anti-war declaration.

Everyone knows Al Jazeera is an MI6 operation

10.09.2006 16:06

One of the things that most bothers me about 'lefties' is how many times they seem to need to prove the same fact to themselves. The scientific method requires that facts are established, so that they may be built on. Refusing to ever establish a fact is pure idiocy.

ONCE AGAIN (sigh) - the BBC World Service (as with all such operations provided by various nations) is a propaganda operation on behalf of the UK state and Secret Services. Al Jazeera was spun out of the 'Arab' arm of the BBC World Service to act as a Black Propaganda news organisation (EXACTLY like Fox News, although strictly speaking, Fox News is the operation of vile racist psychopath zionist Murdoch, rather than the US government).

The people that moved from the BBC to Al Jazeera were all MI6 recruited and vetted.

The biggest laugh I get on this subject is when dribblers state that if Al Jazeera was a Blair psy-op, it wouldn't carry anti-Israel/anti US stories. Wakey wakey, you stupid people. Al Jazeera MUST ESTABLISH ITS CREDENTIALS AMONGST ITS TARGET AUDIENCE. If it sounded like the BBC or any zionist run US network, it would fail to reach the viewers that are to be fed Blair's poison. Also, Al Jazeera must be made to seem authentic, so that when the BBC quote it, the old journalistic trick of using ONCE-REMOVED news stories (see history of fake Niger-Iraq Uranium psy-op) works as intended.

On a more general note, the biggest mistake some of you make is in looking for friends in the wider political world. Your NEED for friendship makes you weak, and that weakness is ruthlessly exploited. And by friendship in this instance, I am refering, of course, to 'friendly' leaders, 'friendly' organisations, 'friendly' commentators, 'friendly' news-services, 'friendly' religions. You want Al Jazeera to be your 'friend' and no-one knows this more than the psychologists working for Blair.

Please re-define friendship back to where it belongs- intimate one-to-one Human relationships. With politics, stick to cold hard facts. When you learn a fact (for instance, Tony Benn was the minister responsible for providing nuclear tech to the Israelis), never ever let yourself forget it, even if it causes chaos amongst your previous assumptions. New 'facts' may well lead to a modification or rejection of old 'facts', but that simply means that our understanding is improving. However, it is a mistake to let the anticipation of improvement weaken the current reliance on existing 'facts'. Providing existing 'facts' are honestly and sensiby gained, they should be trusted as a solid foundation for current thinking and understanding. However, there is no honesty or good sense if the existance of the foundation is used as an excuse to reject future improvements to factual knowledge.
