Howard and the US

cleaves | 19.07.2005 12:01 | Analysis | Liverpool | World

John Howard, presently visiting the US, ‘leader’ without a national or personal identity and cringer extraordinaire (would someone remind him it’s not an embarrassment to be an Australian). Like his conservative predecessors before him, who looked to England for an ideology and identity, Howard looks to the US for guidance and direction. Australian history will not be kind to this pathetic, cringing little lackey.

Representative of the people

19.07.2005 18:26

Howard was elected to his position by the Australian people. They can get rid of him too if they want. How will history explain the extraordinary 'popularity' of Fidel Castro, who has run Cuba for 40 odd years? Simple. History will record that he didn't approve of free elections. In other words, he didn't trust the people to vote the way he approved of. With Howard, the people have to take any blame or credit for his actions. They gave him the job.

will be prosecuted
will be prosecuted

and so am I.
The mass-murdoch press may be one place to look, but only one of many.

More people in Australia should look at Indymedia and read Ad-busters and take back the media we need to focus and come to terms with our own culture and history. As my IMC server is down in Australia at the moment I've found myself looking at UK and different US indies.

Is one critical look at Australian media should anyone be interested.
It's interesting to see how particular international issues resonate and are amplified down under.
