Many on the left who strongly condemn facism also try to compare Israel to nazi Germany over its treatment of the Palestinians, but if you look closely there is no comparison between the two at all!

For example Israel is a multi-racial society in which 20 per cent of its population are from non Jewish ethnic minorities. In Israel there are mosques, church and other religous buildings belonging to other relgions. - Nazi Germany wanted to exterminate all ethnic minorities not only in Germany itself but every country it conqured!

Israel is also fighting against aggression. The war it fights is against people who want to destroy it. It fights a war under the rules of the Geneva convention. - Nazi Germany took part in aggresive wars invading and conquering nations which posed no threat to it. It also ignored the Geneva convention and massacred prisoners of war many times.

Israel is a democracy with free trade union, an independent judicy, an independent supreme court, free speech, the right to a fair trial etc. - Nazi Germany was a brutal dictatorship of the most extreme kind. Anyone could be imprisoned and executed for stepping out of line. Victims of the regime included trade unionists, communists, religous minorities such as Jehovahs Witnesses, and critics of the Nazi regime.

In comparing todays Israel with Nazi Germany the left are insulting all those who suffered under Nazi tyranny and are slandering a free democratic country which is home to many people of different racial and religous backgrounds and which respects people regardless of race, class, age, religon or creed.

Who mentioned Israel? Now you mention it there are some worrying similarities, but nobody has claimed they are the same. They both have the same sinister agenda though, and because they have elections it hardly qualifies it as a democracy. If you think it's free, try asking a Palestinian!
