Anti-Zionism on the Web

Anti Zionist Web sites give a false impression of Zionism, and of the number of Jews oppposed to Zionism. Anti-Zionists are not concerned with peace, since they would be against Jewish self determination no matter what.

At present, searching the Web for the word Zionism will display the Jews Against Zionist Website as the top link. It is curious that "progressives" are so enamored of groups such as these, who are medieval reactionary religious fanatics. They are racists and bigots who abhorr "goyim" gay people and every liberal and decent cause, yet they are publicized with approval by "progressive" people. They do not care about peace, or how many Jews or Palestinian Arabs are killed in this area, only about pushing their obscurantist views about the Messiah and religious fanaticism.

This is not the road to peace and reconciliation.

It is odd that the national liberation movement of no other people is smeared in the way that Zionism is smeared. Call it anti-Semitism or call it whatever you wish.

I think a lot of "progressive types" simply use the word zionism to often. I dont think people are against the idea of an israeli state but simply despise the atrocities carried out in its name. I am sure theres plenty of anti-semetic people out there who act in the way you describe but I do not think the majority of us "progressive types" fall into that catagory. Personally I have a problem with a lot israels policies but that does not mean I have an affiliation with any anti-semetic or anti zionist groups. I think a lot of people consider themselves anti-zionist because of a misunderstanding of the word or because its a lot shorter than anti-israeli atrocities against the palestinians and neighbouring countries for the furtherence of the interest of a jewish state.
