For the third time already, a counter summit from below took place on the african continent in Mali at the start of june simultaneously with the meeting of the states presidents of the industrial nations, this time it was in Kita, 180 km away from Bamako. (before in Siby).
In Kita the effects of the neoliberal globalisation can be studied locally (like in other countries, but with different characterisitics): for example the exploitation of the farmers, the destruction of the environment, the non-access to the world market, the illiteracy, the poverty, the devastating effects of the railway privatisation..
About 650 activists met for discussions in Mali (e.g. from Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Chad, Benin, Senegal, Cameroon, Togo, France and Canada).
