The US Supreme Court is considering the right of the government to hold US citizens indefinitely without charges, possibly the most important cases of human rights during wartime since the Japanese internment in the 1940's.
From Spain- 3 press reviews covering the Parliamentary debate in Spain concerning the withdrawal of Spanish troops from Iraq, the former Prime Minister Aznar's disagreement, and the state of the war on Iraq.
From Russia- A commentary on the deaths of US and British soldiers in Iraq, and the concerns of the US government that the citizens might realize how devastating the invasion has become.
From China- Serious battles have erupted in Thailand and the fighting in Indonesia continues to escalate. The Asian Highway network is moving toward completion, linking Asia to Europe.
From Cuba- A former FBI translator was blocked from speaking to survivors and relatives of the 911 attack, the US government claiming it would be damaging to national security. A viewpoint on the escalation of the fighting in Iraq, a year after Bush claimed victory. Then a Viewpoint on Mexican President Fox's controversial privatization of natural gas, in conflict with the Mexican Constitution.
