The Victory Squat Tent City has stood heroically for four months. In this time, many small battles have been fought and won! Over the last week the City of Vancouver has implemented a divide and conquer strategy.

The Victory Squat Tent City has stood heroically for four months. In this
time, many small battles have been fought and won! Over the last week the
City of Vancouver has implemented a divide and conquer strategy.
Squatters have been woken by police officers at 6am. Squatters returing
freom work have found their tents and belongings thrown in the garbage or
stolen by City workers.
The City claims welfare and shelter are being provided for the people. The
fact of the matter is that one-month-only hardship grants are being given
out and the shelter being offered are deplorable hotel rooms in the DTES.
We demand decent affordable housing!
We ask all people who support the demands of the tent city squatters to
stand in support and solidarity this weekend at the Victory Squat located
beside Science World. We ask people to bring blankets, anything that
could be used to build shelters, and of course food.
It is more important now than ever to show the BC Liberals that we all
stand in unity and solidarity with the struggle of poor people. The
Victory Squatters have put themseles on the front lines - now we must
stand behind them. United we will win!
